They are but a few examples which mirror the present status of crime scenario.
Crimes of different kinds in 2012.
According to a report published by National crime records Bureau for the year 2012, there were 34000 murders, 35000 murder attempts , 25000 atrocities of different kinds and 27000 thefts in India. This speaks volumes about the law and order situation in India.
Self preservation should be watchword.
Simply by being cautious without complacency a law abiding commoner should protect himself. Whenever there are incidents of this kind, don’t dismiss them with a complacent attitude, ’Oh, they happened to somebody else’. Know that tomorrow it may be your turn. Cyber crimes are the new entrants in to the land of crimes. With the advent of Social networking sites where there is a ‘Free for all’ milieu is very much there, cyber crimes have become so rampant that the Law and order departments had to open a separate branch to deal with cyber crimes.
Sanjay (real names withheld) works in a private organization in Mumbai. He has a reputation for his hard work and efficiency. He was recently married to Rajani, a well behaved girl. She has observed for the last two weeks, there were some obscene photos in the account of Sanjay’s Face Book. His colleagues in the office started looking at him with suspicion. Sanjay received some warnings from his Head office too. Rajani insisted on going back to her parents’ home.

Now, the cyber space is being used for a plethora of immoral and illegal activities by hackers. The main players are from Corporate circles and political circles. Destruction of Data base and statistics are but a few immoral activities which are rampant in the Cyber World.
The state of Andhra Pradesh tops the list in Cyber hacking in the country. According to National Crime Records Bureau, all the hackers are between the age 18-35. And they are from good families.
Why this criminal indulgence ?
There are many reasons. Some of them are, greed for money, sadism, sexual harassment and to damage the rival's prestige. With the increase in cyber crimes, year by year law administration is in a state of deep crisis.
Only solution to solve Cyber crimes
- Without looking towards others help, start helping yourself.
- Use your own computer for all your web activities.
- Date of birth, surname,family details and any other personal information should never be disclosed.
- Change password often.
- Never enter an unknown website.
- Do not respond to the mails or friendship requests from strangers and unknown people.
- Never publish personal photos on the sites.
In short, " Be vigilant" should be your watch word.

He is a retired employee. Long ago,25 years ago, he bought a site of 500 square yards, in the suburbs of Hyderabad. He built a small house in his site. Today there are many such people in the urban areas, where the Mafia activities are rising in number Now urban areas are becoming havens for social and economic crimes. Anti social elements and Mafias are growing with a menacing speed.
There is no guarantee of children reaching home safely after school hours. The condition is still worst in the case of women. Gone are the days when Senior citizens used to spend a calm and serene life in the evening of their lives. Being alone, after completing their life’s responsibilities has become a curse today in the urban areas. They live in a state of uncertainty and fear because nobody knows when they will be attacked by antisocial elements.
Instances of attacks on lonely senior citizens are growing in number.
A man knocks on the door in the guise of an electrical depart man, enters the home with the pretext of noting the electric meter and creates ruckus. And there are incidents of murders too.

Another reason for this unabating crimes is, most of the victims of the domestic violence are not willing to report and seek justice from the law.
Another reason for this social evil is the parents of the girl itself. Practically, parents are giving away their daughters to rank strangers.This trend has to change in order to curb such deaths caused by lack of forethought in the parents.

A mother was anxiously waiting for her four year old child's return from play. It was drizzling. Time was ticking. Still no trace of her child. Her husband too returned from the office. But, by then, the culprit killed the innocent child.
These child abusing cases are not restricted to a few states in the country. Entire country is afflicted by this plague.Record books say among the crimes in the country, 10 percent cases constitute child abuse cases. In comparison with the previous year, the child abuse and kidnapping cases this year have increased by 15 percent. On the whole , 40000 child abuse cases were recorded in this year. Last year has witnessed 8000 deaths of innocent children.
Child suicides
Child suicides is another disturbing fact we are living with today. Childhood is considered as the heaven for children. This stage of a child's life is considered as a stage free from worries and hassles.But today the scenario changed. Children are committing suicide. Child trafficking has become a common occurrence in the entire length and breadth of the country.
