I want to share my interview experience with you. Yesterday (22nd January, 2010) a miracle happened in my life. I selected in the iGATE campus drive in our college.Out of 350 students, 16 students selected in it.

The selection procedure starts with the written test. This is the first round. This test is based on aptitude, Reasoning and English. Like any competition exam here also time plays an major role. Total test consists of 50 questions and time given is 60 min. For CAT students, this test is easy. I am not an CAT student, but gotten through it. Nearly 350 students have attended this test and only 55 cleared it. Luckily I am one of them.

Second round of campus drive is technical interview -1. In this round, he asked me about “Tell me about yourself”. This is the main question of my interview. For answering this question follow the below steps.

1. Tell about your name. Meaning of your name and why your parents named you with it.

2. Tell about your place. Importance of your place.

3. Tell about your family background. Here family background means values in your family. Like my father gives much importance to values like honesty, hardwork. I am broughtup with those values. So I am greatful to them. Like that

4. Tell about your academic background. From schooling to present studies.

5. Tell about your achievements (priorities). Answer from childhood activities

6. Tell about your hobbies and interests

7. Tell about your strengths and weaknesses

8. Tell about your leisure time activities

9. Tell about your carrier objectives. Carrier objectives means what you want to be in 3 years, 5 years ,10 years, 20 years in your carrier.

10. Tell about your role model and why

11. About you goals. Here goals may be carrier goals, family goals , social goals like that.

I covered all these points in the interview and during this I said I am very interested in internet. So he asked what sites I browse and which you like most and why like that . I covered so many points and said search engine optimization. So he is very much impressed with my answers. Then he asked simple C programs on prime number and palindrome number. And final question is any questions.Out of 55 nearly 25 cleared it. I am one of those.

Third round of interview is technical round -2. Here also tell me about yourself played a major role. He is very impressed with my answer. And he asked about my project. How many are your project members? how you selected them? How the idea arised? What factors consider while development ? And if your project is done with large scale like bigger one then what factors do you consider like that. I managed well in this round. Then he asked me about my strengths and explain about them . Then he asked about my weaknesses. He is impressed with my answers. Then in this out of 25 nearly 20 cleared it.

Final round of interview is HR round. Here also tell me about yourself played a major role. She is impressed with my answer. She asked again about my project and explained it. She asked about my hobbies. I said reading books. Then she said to the name the books I read and asked which book do you liked most and why you liked that. She is impressed with my answer. Then she asked about recent headlines in the newspaper. I said Telangana issue. Then she asked do you support or not. Here also she is impressed with my answer. Finally out of 20, 16 students are selected. I am one of them.

So friends prepare a good resume. Resume should consists of only genuine things. And if you kept any paper presentations, seminars in that then be prepared for it. Here in all the interviews, “Tell me about yourself” played a major role. So prepare before attending the interview. Answer according to my points, then the interviewer will definitely impressed with it. So be honest, confident in the interview. That’s it. Then you will definitely through in the company
