What is stick?

A stick is a long, thin piece of something. It is usually wood.

What can you do with a stick?

Well, you can use a stick to scratch with. An itch on the middle of your back is very hard to scratch.

A stick will help you reach it.

If the stick is small you can use it for a lollipop and also for candy floss and ice cream bars. Some children bury their used ice cream stick. They think that the stick will grow into on ice cream tree.

At parties, grow ups often eat little pieces of cheese with small sticks stuck in them. Sometimes they eat pineapple, sausages. Papaya, fruit chat and other things in the same way. Of course they throw away the sticks. Maybe somebody will invent a stick that can be eaten. Then there will be much less to clean up.

Painters often stir the point with spoons or crew drivers. They think that the paint will come off by wiping it with a rag. It doesn’t. To stir paint uses a stick. It’s the best thing.

A stick can be used to stir other things like soup, Lassi and sherbet. Some people even stir their tea or coffee with little sticks.

Types of sticks

Sometime a stick is a magic stick. Then it’s called a magic wand. A wand is thin and light so that it can be waved around easily.

Police and military officers and band leaders use a thin long stick. It is called a baton.

Sign sticks are very useful to carry signs and posters. The sign can be held up high and can be seen better.

Some of the pictures above show that camping without a stick will be very difficult.

A stick is good for poking into places where you’d rather not put your mind.

Other sticks

Dogs love to fetch things. Most people like to throw things for dogs to fetch. A stick is the best thing for a dog to fetch. It is the right shape and size to fit across a dog’s mouth, like a bone. It is better than a bone, because a dog would not want to give the bone back to the thrower. Besides, it doesn’t matter very much if the stick gets lost.

Drivers check the petrol in their engineers with a dip-stick.

If you are lucky to have two sticks there are many more things you can do.

Perhaps it would be better to use one stick and keep the other one as a spare.

And the using for old man walking stick, playing hockey sticks and cooking fire sticks.
