Kavita loved to dance. She loved it more than anything else in the world. She danced all day. She danced everywhere. Often, she was so busy dancing that she forgot all about the other things she had to do.

``Kavita, do your homework! Kavita, eat your breakfast! kavita’s mother was always telling her. But kavita did not want to do her home work; she did not even want to have her breakfast. The only thing she ever wanted to do was dance.

Kavita danced in her dreams at night.

Early in the morning, when it was time to brush her teeth, kavita would stand in front of the bathroom mirror, smiling, dancing and shaking her head from side to side without moving her neck.

`` You are going to drop the toothpaste on yourself,’’ kavita’s mother cried. ``hurry up! Or you will be late again for school.’’

In class, kavita started out of the window and dreamed. She saw herself danced among the trees and the flowers. Later, she twirled round and round in the corridor and knocked down the books from Mrs. Kristi’s hand.

``Come here, you clumsy child! Take this note to your mother,’’ said Mrs. Kristi.

Kavita’s mother looked at the note and said to her husband, ``I don’t know what to do with kavita.’’ ``I have an idea,’’ said kavita’s father after thinking for a while. They went out that evening when kavita was sleeping. The next morning kavita found a box near her bed. ``Open it! Parents Said to her with smiling. Inside the box was the shiniest, prettiest pair of tinkling pair of tinkling anklets. Kavita was very happy. She thought she would burst. She tied the anklets round her ankles and they tinkled. Kavita was so excited that she leapt and twinkled till she was almost late for school.

That evening, kavita’s father took her to aunt Sujata dances class.

``You are a good dancer, kavita, and if you work hard, you will be a great dancer one day,’’ said aunt Sujata. Kavita ran home and hugged her mother and father. ``Oh! I am happiest girl in the world whole world,’’ she sang.

From that day, kavita did everything on time. She finished her homework; she went to school on time and listened to everything the teacher said.
