False propaganda of voting compulsory
We must vote is a false propaganda.
We stand to lose nothing if we do not vote. We are not causing anarchy by not voting. Parliament is not dissolved till another parliament is elected. So there always will be a parliament.
If the parliament refuses to rule because it does not have the mandate there is always the President when take over.
We are sure that we do not want to vote as there is no one worth our vote.
This has happened because over the years it has become difficult for honest people to join politics. National politics is in the hands of 4-5 national and about 25 regional parties.
Our system is Prime-minister centered system. Prime minister is not elected by the people directly but is chosen by the high commands of the national parties.
About 12-15% of the voters validate the authority of the party to appoint the Prime minister. What role has the simple man to play in the governance of the nation in this scenario?
We must have public forums on national issues which must be heard by the government if the people have to have any meaning. Till then our voting will only validate the nonsense that we get as governance. Also the role of the citizens will get mineralized after every passing election. And you won't know why prices have risen or why so much money is being spent on fancy schemes.
You will not know why a particular community which votes as a group is only catered to by the government and the rest are at the mercy of the government's whims. So do not vote and do not vote if you have a reason.
