You have head the name of Alexander the Great. He is also known as `Sikanadar’. He was the only conqueror the world. Someone asked Alexander the great, ``would you capture the next city if you had opportunity to do so?’’

The great conqueror replied quickly, ``I do not wait for opportunities, I create them.’’ Every gets opportunity is at some time or the other. Those who are wise grab an opportunity but most successful and determined people even go one step father; they don’t wait for a suitable opportunity. On other hand, they create opportunities for themselves.

``It is impossible!’’ said an officer when Napoleon Bonaparte gave him directions to do some important task. ``impossible?’’ the great emperor than dared in reply, `` the word impossible is found dictionary of fools.’’

Life is a struggle, rather a battle, nothing goes easy in it. One has to struggle a lot an every step as hurdles are there to block the way. If someone remains firm and fights against difficulties, he or she is sure to surmount them and achieve victory. All that it requires is a strong will-power and determination, courage and perseverance.

Nelson, the great British Admiral, was very interested to become a naval hero. His determination gave him the strength to fight against ill- heath and rise to the top. He said, ``to think something impossible is to make it so.’’ So long as you think, you can achieve something you will be able to do so. But once you utter `I can’t’, chances of your success become dim.

What is fate?

It is in fact the fruit of someone’s own deeds. So you must always keep in you mind that: ``Man is the architect of his own fortune’’.

Don’t make lame excuses. Grab the opportunity, or even create an opportunity. Show firm determination to carry out your plans. Opportunities are all round you. Keep the fires of ambition burning strongly within you by building the qualities of determination and will –power!

A boy named Sandow lived in Germany. He was very weak, and he looked sick. His pale face, sunken cheeks and thin lean legs gave him a repulsive appearance. Once he was sitting in a restaurant. Just then a boy about his own age dropped in and sat on his table. There was an altercation between them and a scuffle followed. Sandow was beaten brutally and was thrown out of the restaurant. Sandow felt greatly insulted. Sandow immediately vowed to become a strong boy. This determination gave him a new lease of life.

He began taking exercise regularly. His determination and its regularly follow-up made him the foremost wrestler of his time. He stood the champion in weight lifting.

So, remember, determination can achieve wonders. Do all the things with determination.

At one time, people thought that it was not possible for man to fly. But Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright were determined to conquer the skies. And they conquered the sky by creating aero planes designed to travel.

Franklin D.Roosevelt, who became the president of the USA, was a handicapped boy. He had paralysis. But he did not give up his determination. He mustered all his strength, will-power and determination to overcome his handicap. Despite being handicapped, he achieved great success and was elected as the president of the USA. He led his country out of economic crisis with utmost determination.

So, handicaps can be reduced to nothing, if you have the courage, the determination and the will to overcome them. You must first decide what you ambition is. What you want to become when you grow up and then put all your energy and efforts towards the achievement of your aim. The qualities of hard work, determination and courage will lead you to success. Never let your determination flag.
