Cruelty- find solution to stop it
The word cruelty is quite common in human life and can be simply defined as hurting living beings either intentionally or by mistake. Though there are chances of being unconscious in many cases, the equal chances of acting cruel with consciousness is also possible. However, any human being should become aware about why cruelty happens and find ways to end it, with compassion in the world. In general cruelty can be seen against mankind, animals and nature which can be due to different reasons. An elaborate explanation is needed for understanding the reason for cruelty and its distinct realms.
Cruelty on mankind:
On the earth, man is considered to be the most intelligent species and is gifted with many powers, which are deficient in any other species. There is a huge chance for the man to be cruel intentionally rather than unintentionally. The reason for being cruel against another individual in human beings is due to various causes, such as personal dispute or may be due to intention of gaining resources and people. The personal gain is having quiet a significant role in human cruelty from ancient times and has increased further for different needs.
Reason for thinking about personal gain: Let us consider an example, where a person strives day and night to earn something for his daily needs, on the other side another person is not interested to do the same thing for his survival. In such case, the second person may want to earn or gain control on the resources of first person for survival by attacking him. This type of attacking is one example of cruelty against mankind. But in real this type of cruelty can also be seen in all species especially in primates and the act continues until some personal gain is achieved.
In today's world the needs have increased and are not limited to some resources like food and water. The present world has many cruel things like terrorism, murders, assaults, rape and wars which are for gaining something only. The cruelty against another individual has reached to a peak where life is also at risk. This shows us that world has not only advanced in resources from the age of cavemen but also has advanced in finding many reasons for being cruel against mankind. And the salient point to be noted is that world has become civilized and if we move to the past there was no way to condemn the cruelty which is not the case in present world. The act of being cruel is considered to be offense now and many countries have strict laws to punish such acts. Exploiting poverty-wage labor is not tolerable in some countries in the field of economy and unauthorized access to any countries resources is also not acceptable. In the field of medicine we still have cruelty when conventional medicine is considered where humans are used for medical experimentation. Though there is no special law to condemn such cruelty, where a human with full of life is subjected to medical experiments just to know whether a medicine reacts or not. Such type of cruelty is most egregious form and is a stigma to mankind where a disable person is intentionally harmed.
Some real example on cruelty on mankind:
In case of war we can see instants of cruelty as official policy such as US military brutality on Iraqi prisoners in Abu Ghraib, which has been most noted scandal. The photos and testimony of the victims clearly state the in-human acts done by military persons on innocent people. It is also one type of most egregious form of cruelty and surprisingly according to the facts the military officials enjoyed doing such acts. This type of cruelty is supported in some countries and still captivated people in war are subjected to such tortures.
Nazi rule in Germany is another example, where tyranny was the many cause for cruelty against mankind.
The 9/11 attack is another example where innocent people got killed due to the aim to own something by single individual and is type of intentional cruelty. Being a top developed country US is always a target for any nations. Revenge is another aspect due to which such mishaps occurs number of times.
The Mumbai blast in India is another big example were thousands of innocent people lost their lives for some ridiculous reason. India also faced repeated attacks in different places and still determined to face more. This type of attitude of India is too tame and the attackers are taking advantage of the country's disability. Internal riots in India, is another reason for the country to ignore the outside attacks and negotiations are not properly implemented. There are many problems in India due to which it is not able to save itself from such cruelty.
Ways to control cruelty against Mankind:
Initially, every human should learn the meaning of compassion and should understand that causing harm to other humans is not good as they too have soul and are conscious about pain. Simply for gaining something which is not ours is to be avoided. Every human should be infused with this term from the learning age itself, which is from school days. It is unfortunate that neither schools nor universities take effort to teach the significance of compassion. Even the present government, press and public or private organizations are not bothered to know the importance of compassion.
Secondly, to end cruelty against mankind the wrong notion of violence with more violence should be avoided. Any violence can never bring peace to anyone and such type of triumphs can only give temporary satisfaction. So, anyone should solve violence by different approach such as negotiation and sometime ever through apologizing. Another fact is violence can create more enemies and even if you end one enemy, the other one may aggravate the violence again.
Finally, the rising cycle of violence can be stopped by adopting humility and one must leave their egos to do such thing. The mentality of taking revenge has to be completely removed from our mindsets for simple reasons irrespective of gender, religion, country and reason. But today it is still a question whether the modern civilized people are really concerned to avoid cruelty against mankind. It shows that though present world has advanced in many things it is still not able to eliminate the inherited traits from ancestors.
