On the Independence day all Indian salute to our flag that is nearly 120 crore people.But do you know, the founder of this flag is from Andhra Pradesh state and his name is Pingala Venkayya.

          Pingala venkayya is not only a founder of our national Indian flag, he is a great agriculturist, scientist, soldier and teacher. He was born in krishna district in Machilipatnam at bhatlapenumarra. in 1876 August 2nd. From childhood itself Venkayya is good at studies. After his schooling, for higher education  he went to colombo. He even participated as soldier in the war of South Africa as a british soldier. Then only he met Mahatma Gandhi. He was impressed with Mahathma Gandhi's thoughts and policies. 

         After coming to India, he worked as a railway guard at Bangalore and Madras. In Ballaro he worked as a plague officer.As he is much interested on studies, he joineda collage  in lahore and learnt Japanese and urdu language. Then only Venkayya got chance to work with the great freedom fighters DadaBai Naurojee.

          Venkayya like agriculture very much. He evn found how to produce cotton in different methods. Then he was rewarded as Parthi venkayya. Parthi is a telugu word which mean cotton. By knowning about the invention of venkayya cotton production the british people have joined him in their agriculture society. He even  established an international school in machilipatnam to make youngsters expert in all like horse riding, history, agriculture field.

         The meeting held in kakinada. Venkayya meet Mahathma Gandhiji, then he got a great thought to make an national flag. He researched on 30 countries flag and almost he prepared our national flag. He showed this flag to Gandhi in vijayawada in march 31sst 1921. Then they made changes and it got  recognition a national flag . In 1963 july 4rth Pingali left the world and remained in the history.
