Depression is a kind of situation when you feel sad and loss of interest. Everyone suffers from depression because of some ups and downs or due to some setbacks in their life. It is unavoidable because of how the world behaves on every aspect, but there is a line between minor depression and major depression. If you are in the normal category then you are fine but when it enters the second category then the end results would be drastic. Many people don't realize that depression is a disease and it should be cured as fast as possible. Therefore, it is very essential to understand the early signs of depression and proper steps should be taken to keep it under your control. During depression you might feel lonely or no happy moments in activities which you enjoy in the past.

Depression affects your day to day life and it has  a huge impact towards  your career developement and peope who suffers from a traumatic depression are probably going to struggle for their whole life. Depression affects every individual irrespective of their ages. In the case of younger generation, symptoms of drepession in teens can be noticed by signs of their anger, anxiety and lack of interaction with the outside world. One of the most common symptoms of depression in teens are a constant and overwhelming feeling of sadness which they might struggle to explain to their parents or friends. It may be intense and they might also think of committing suicide.

Depression is more common among men and women all around the world. Depression can be caused due to several reasons like financial problems, unemployment and so on. Some studies reveal that depression runs in families. Genes play an important role in causing depression and if a member of a family suffers from depression there is a high possibility of a person in the same family from being getting affected by depression, but it is just a possibility. We can't notify a single cause for depression as it has many sources and you can be affected by various reasons. But there are certain things which are very common reasons for causing depression. Many life events like death of a family member, spouse and divorce between your parents can cause depression .  Women are  more vulnerable to depression because of their lifestyle. They have the responsibility of taking care of their family menbers and home related works which forces  women to be under enormous amount of stress and also they have to suffer from various kind of abuses. Generally people turn to alcohol when they are under depression but they fail to understand that alcohol makes depression worse.

Tips to control depression

Depression is very dangerous if left untreated. Fortunately, depression can be cured if it is detected at an early stage and appropriate treatments are taken at the right stage. Depression cannot be cured within a short span of time,it requires proper planning and you must cooperate with the treatment. The below points might give you some guidelines to control depression.

  • Don't be pessimistic and stop negative thinking. Socialize with positive people and try to take notes on how they face problems and follow it.
  • Meditation plays an important role in controlling stress. So, meditate or pray at the end of the day on a daily basis to relieve from all the difficulties you had undergone throughout the day.
  • A busy and an isolated life can cause burnout and depression. Try to be familiar with more friends and try to find something you like to do which would be very helpful in getting rid of drepression.
  • Think about all the positives and all the things which you had accomplished in your life rather than the things which are beyond your horizon.
  • Do regular exercise and don't get addicted to drugs and alcohols. Exercising and medication play an important role in eliminating depression.
  • Try to learn your mistakes and you should come out from the comfort zone and try to get adapted to different situations.
  • Don't think that you are only one to suffer from depression, there are millions of people around the world  suffering from the same problem. So, don't think that you are being isolated.
  • Get good and proper sleep. Sleep atleast 8 hours a day and avoid irregular sleep patterns.
  • Talk to someone if you are feeling lonely and share some happy moments to be in a good mood. 

If things go beyond your control , consult your doctor and there are several kinds of treatments available. Don't try to hide your depression as it can cause some severe consequences. Share your problems and it is essential to speak to someone about how you are feeling.
