SMOKING HAZARDS

 

I would like to share some things about smoking and its harms to humans.

 

Smoking today has increased rapidly all over the world. The necessity of smoking when asked to a smoker the answer was very simple. He says to relax himself and his body he smokes. But he does not understand about the ill effects of smoking and even when he understands its effects he is hesitating to stop smoking.

The Nicotine present in the cigarette effects the lungs a lot. The smokers can be divided into two categories. They are

· Active Smokers and

· Passive Smokers

 

Active Smokers are those who directly smoke the cigarettes. They intake the cigarette smoke into

their lungs.

Passive Smokers are those who inhale the smoke that is let out by the active smokers. The are indirectly effected even though they do not smoke. The effect to passive smokers is higher than the effect to the active smokers.

 

The medical history says when an individual smokes a single cigarette his life span is reduced by 5 minutes. For example if we consider if an individual smokes thrice a day he smokes 90 cigarettes per month and 1180 cigarettes per year. We can calculate how much time an individual loses in his life cycle.

 

The government has taken many steps in creating awareness among the people but still the number of smokers keeps on increasing. Even the statutory warning on the cigarette packets doesn’t seem to reduce the number of smokers.

 

If an individual walks daily to keep him fit enough and if he gets addicted to smoking the colour of lungs would change to black as days and years progresses. So ultimately there no use of walking for health. It is just walking towards death.

 

Smoking leads to many diseases. It causes Lung and Mouth Cancer. Smoking effects the respiratory track and lungs. If an individual keeps on smoking for a long time the respiration would be more difficult for him. The problems like Wheezing would occur easily at his old age.

 

The youngsters don’t realize the effects as they are beginners and they have fresh blood and all the organs in the body are fresh and very active. The smoking is almost a slow poison. It effects in the old age. So the youngsters should realize the hazards of smoking and should never intend to get addicted to smoking habits.
