Soldiers –we salute you
All of us can move around freely and sleep fearlessly because our soldiers are at the frontiers guarding us from the enemies. They are the brave sons of India with a deep respect and love for their motherland.
Away from family and friends, they live in inhospitable conditions, yet their commitment never wavers.
Whenever India has been attacked, our soldiers have shown great valor and determination. These resolute soldiers are ever ready to do their duty unto death without hesitation. We protected and secure because of them.
Our soldiers exhibit the following characteristic
- Valor: - fearlessness in combat, in the face of enemy even when fighting at a great disadvantage or facing sure death.
- Spirit of selfless sacrifice: - to do or die.
- Fairness and honesty: - displayed even towards enemy, prisoners or wounded.
- Discipline and integrity: - patriotism, honesty and courage under all circumstances.
- Comradeship and brotherhood: - with in the armed forces regardless of creed or religion.
- Fidelity, honor and courage: - stand out as an example to others.
- Fierce determination: - even in defeated adverse situation.
*A soldier carries a week’s ration, ammunition and an assault rifle. He carries over 20 kilograms. On his back as he pulls himself on this rugged cruel terrain. They are fighting war.
They are doing what any soldier would do for their motherland. They have promised themselves that they will not rest until drive away the enemy.
The soldier does not have time to sleep. Or eat becau8se the enemy is up there, somewhere hidden. It way see them, track tem down. Yet these men move slowly but with determination to fight for the nation and to die for nation.
Do you know how it fees to be up there in the cold mountains, carrying heavy backpack with a gnawing fear that you may never see your family again?
a) They have a discipline.
b) They have a duty.
c) They have a pledge
d) They have a promise to keep.
Their tryst is with destiny. 180 of them are dead. Many more will die. Let not their death go unacknowledged.
*We salute all these brave soldiers! We all cannot be like them but whatever field we choose, we must excel in that and live as upright citizens of India.
