This is a famous statement in the Tamil film Shivaji “Rich gets richer, poor people become still worse”. The reason why I have used this statement is that, recently Forbes magazine released the rich of billionaires and there are totally 52 Indians in the Forbes world’s billionaires list. Statistics says that this is 50 percent higher when compared to that of last year, i.e. the increase in number of billionaires this year is 27.Last year there were 27 Indians in the Forbes list.

According to the Forbes list for the Indian billionaires, Mukesh Ambani tops the list for India’s largest billionaire. As a matter of fact, there was a tough fight between gin and steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal. Mukesh top the list with the property value of around 1.5 lakhs, crores Indian Rupees. Wow, very huge amount.

He is followed by the British based Indian, Lakshmi Mittal with his assets worth 1.44 lakhs, crores .Really a tough competition indeed and reports says this is high when compared with last year.

The third place also went to Ambani family and as you know Anil Mittal grabbed third position with the assets worth around 84 thousand crores. When comparing with the previous year, the net worth of the first three billionaires is high. Wipro chairam, Azim Premji takes the fourt position with 71.520 thousands crores and he is followed by Essar group, Sasi and Ravi, with 65.280 thousand crores.

In case of China, there are 79 billionaires in Forbes world list, but still the worth of all these billionaires in China is less when compared with that of the 52 Billionaire sin India. Forbes also stated that , when the recession is over, there will be more billionaires from India. Of the 100 billionaires from India, there were 6 women billionaires.

Now let us discuss the practical issue. Although Indians did well to get into Forbes billionaires list, still I have read in the latest news that India is the 84th most corrupted country in the world. So the Government must take care and also bring up some strict laws so that corruption is totally eradicated from the country. But this might be a very difficult task, still we can implement some very good ideas, so that we can at least try our level best to eradicate corruption.
