Stress can make our lives unhappy. Certain amount of stress is essential for our lives , but too much of it can through it out of the way. Stress can be caused due to many reasons such as death of loved ones, location change, new job, work responsibilities, environmental noise, crime, racial tension, etc. When you are in a stressful situation, and think that you can do nothing about the
situation, you need not be a victim of stress; instead you can fight back and come up on top. Some ways to cope with stressful situations- Drink plenty of water, as it is very essential during such
times because when you are under stress, your mouth gets dry, your heart beats fast and you start to sweat. Your body becomes dehydrated. When you drink water, it returns to its normal state. Set aside the problem which is causing stress, until it can be dealt later more effectively. Because you can be better prepared with the solution of the problem. Vent out. Having a good laugh or cry with your friend or loved one, can release the built up pressure in your mind. Meditate-Find calm place which is free of external noises, and sit comfortably, and breathe in and out slowly. Listening to mind soothing music can also be a good remedy to stress. Going for a walk outside can also ease your mood. Set up a hobby like painting, knitting etc. Play with your pet.

One of the biggest problems people are stressed is because they don’t have the ability to say “No”, when they are ought to. They say “Yes” to everyone’s requests and needs. This can be a huge stressor. Learn to say “No” when you are not really interested. Of course you can help others but you have to see your lives first. You cannot be all things to all people. The key is finding some way to make you feel better when you are overwhelmed. One of the ways to break from this habit of pleasing others in all things is to say “No”. Just say the word “No”, to hear come out of your mouth. Say it as louder as you can. Take a break. Go for a vacation. Getting out of the daily work will give you a good feeling to overcome stress and anxiety. Take rest. Don’t feel guilty about doing this. You will renew so much of energy by doing so. Life will go on even without you. Everyone will survive even when you are not present. So, concentrate on you rather than others. When we feel we don’t have enough time to do the things that we are ought to do, it can also become a stressor. Just like causes of stress differ from person to person, what relieves stress is not the same for everyone. In general, however, making certain lifestyle changes as well as finding healthy, enjoyable ways to cope with stress helps most people. However, you are alone in this battle. There are many people in this world who feel tensed and overwhelmed. Enjoy life to its best, let nothing disturb you. Have peace of mind. And when you feel yourself stressed out or beset with a panic attack, relax, breathe through it.
