CHARACTER IS DESTINY
If wealth is lost, nothing is lost. If health is lost, something is lost. If character is lost, everything is lost. This will prove the value of a character. A man is honoured only if he possesses good character and conduct. Character decides a person’s fate. Character is the total development of a person. In every walk of life, one’s character is taken into account. A bad character is disliked by everyone. In this complex world what is wanted is character oriented education in schools instead of job oriented courses. Russell has said, “Our education must be with a view of creating men of character.” The most important quality of a good character is honesty. We are told that we must be honest if we wish to go to heaven. No matter we go to heaven or hell, it a necessary character for success in life.
If a man is fraud, people will refuse to have any dealings with him. On the other hand, if a business man has a reputation for honesty, his business will flourish or else it will perish. Great men like Abraham Lincoln and Mahatma Gandhi were famous for devotion to truth. Thus their great character developed from honesty was certainly the secret of their success in life. In fact, people become great personalities on the basis of absolute honest character. Also it is a good virtue which all of us should possess. A man with fine character is an asset to the society. He brings honour not only to himself but also to the society on which he lives.
Adversity is what that challenges an honest character. Adversity means misery or misfortune. It tests the real character of a man. Character is the inner discipline of a man. The greatness of a man is revealed only when he is in trouble. If a man can solve his misfortune with his good character, his life is a success in this world. An HONEST CHARACTER is the BEST POLICY in LIFE.
