These awards play an important role in our national life, as they prove to be not only a source of encouragement for the extra-ordinary but also an inspiration for the ordinary.

BHART RATNA and PADMA AWARDS

PADMA AWARDS namely Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shree are given for exceptional and distinguished service of high order in any field. The Padma Awards are announced on the eve of the REPUBLIC DAY.

The PRESIDENT of INDIA gives the BHARAT RATNA AWARDS , the highest civilian honour, for exceptional service towards advancement of art , literature and science , and in recognition of public service of the highest order.

BRAVERY AND GALLANTRY AWARDS

NATIONAL BRAVERY AWARD was started in 1957 by the Indian Council for Child Welfare. The award was to recognize and honour children who performed outstanding deeds of bravery and selfless sacrifice.

GALLANTRY AWARDS – The Ashok Chakra awards are open to the civilians. These awards are biannual and are given on the Republic Day and Independence Day.

SAHITYA AND DADA SAHEB AWARDS

SAHITYA ACADEMY AWARDS was instituted in the year 1954. These awards recognize the most outstanding books of literary merit published in any of the major Indian languages.

DADA SAHEB PHALKE is the founder of the World’s largest Film induxtry. The most prestigious award of the Indian Film Industy is named after him.

DRONACHARYA AND ARJUNA AWARDS

DRONACHARYA AWARD was instituted in 1985 to honour eminent coaches , who have outstandingly and consistently motivated sportspersons to the highest performance in international events.

ARJUNA AWARD was instituted in 1961 as the highest National recognition for outstanding performance in sports and games at the international level.
