Hobbies
A hobby is a pleasant work done in our leisure hours. It is not our main work. It gives us pleasure and peace of mind. It may give us profit and fame.
There are many kinds of hobbies. They are gardening, stamp-collecting, music etc. Many people like games such as cricket, hockey, and football. Some people delight in hunting and fishing. Reading is also a pleasant and useful hobby. Writing stories and poems is a very interesting hobby. If magazines publish your stories and poems or your articles, you earn some money and get good fame. Gardening may also bring some money. But you should have skill to market vegetables, fruits, seeds.
A photographer makes his living by photography. But it may be the hobby of a doctor or lawyer. In the same way gardening may be the hobby of a teacher. But it is the regular work for gardener. So, one person’s work may be another person’s hobby. Some times one’s hobby may become his work fortunately.
We take to hobbies not only for pleasure and recreation, it is also of some use to us. For students, the best way of spending their leisure time is to read good books and magazines and playing outdoor games. Reading can extend one’s knowledge. Playing outdoor games is a good exercise to students. Only playing Indoor games is not healthy to students. Generally, watching television is not considered as a hobby.
So everyone should have a nice hobby which enriches one’s life and which is useful to the world. If you don’t have any hobby, choose your hobby which your mind likes.
