Once there was a rich man in a village who often rode to a nearby town on horse back. One day the man went to the town to buy jewelry for his daughter. He bought fine gold rings and necklaces.

The man put the box of jewelers in a big and hung it on his shoulder. He started back to this village. On the outskirts of the town, he saw that the nail from one of the shoes of his horse had become loose. The horse stumbled as it ran. But the man had bad habit of putting things off. So, he did not care to get the horse’s shoe mended.

The man was passing through a forest. As the path was stony and rough the horse began to limp badly. So the man got off and walked besides his horse. At a distance, the man saw a gang of robbers coming towards him. The man jumped on his horse and urged it to go fast, but as the horse had lost its shoe, it could not do so on the stony path of the forest. The robbers overtook him and snatched away his bag. They also beat him up before escaping into the interior of the forest.

The man lay helpless there. `Oh! What a misfortune has befallen me!’’ he cried. I have lost all my wealth just for want of a nail. If only I had repaired the horse shoe on time, I would not have suffered this misfortune’’.

Sunita understood the value of doing things in time. she said, `Mummy, I promise that from now on, I will never pit off my work, I am going to do all my things on time’’.

Time is precious. It does not wait for anyone. Do not procrastinate. Do today what can be done tomorrow.

Time should be utilized carefully. Since every minute is voluble, so make the most of it. Plan your day; time for school, time for study and home work, time for play, time to help your mother. A plan is also time to spend on your hobbies, to meet your friends, to read a story book.

Above, do today what must be done to day.
