Once upon a time, there were two brothers. The elder bother was Vijai and the younger one was Vinai. They possessed qualities exactly according to their names. Vijai was intelligent and clever in his studies. Vinai was more interested in sports.

a) Vijay was appointed the chief minister in the court of the king of Veeravardhan.

b) Vinai joined the army of the king Mohan Raj.

*Both brothers were hardworking, loyal and sincere in their respective fields. They earned good name for themselves.

• However, Vijai’s fame and glory had spread far and wide.

One day, both the brothers came to their home to see their parents. Everybody in the village came to meet the two brothers. but all of them praised Vijai only. Even their father and mother only his elder son said that he were very proud of him. Therefore, Vinai was annoyed. The father realized this and thought of a plan to convince Vinai of Vijai’s superiority.

Now, it’s so happened that on a small hillock near their house, a bitch had given birth for three puppies.

*The father asked Vinai to go and find out what there was at the top of the hillock. Vinai immediately climbed up the hillock and returned quickly.

His father asked him, ``Son, what did you see there on the hillock?’’

``Father, a bitch has given birth to puppies’’. Vinai replied.

The father again asked, ``how many puppies are there?’’

He did not know answer. So, he again ran up the hillock and returned immediately. And said, ``Father, there are three only.’’

The father further asked, ``what are the colors?’’.

No answer from him. Again he ran there and returns back. ``Father, one of the puppies is brown and the other two are black.’’

Next, the father called Vijai and asked him to go and find out what there was the top of the hillock.

Vijai climbed up the hillock and came back after sometime.

``Father, a bitch has given birth to puppies.’’ he told.

Q) Father asked, ``how many are there?’’

A) Vijai replied, ``there are three’’

Q) Again father asked, ``what color are the puppies?’’

A) One is brown others two black color.’’ he replied promptly.

• Vinai now realized that his elder brother ad gone only once on the hillock and had brought all information about the bitch and her puppies. But he had t go so many times to get the same information.

*Vinai was impressed with the intelligence of his brother. He began to admire his brother’s intelligence.
