It is a small house. And it is a little family. The family members are Grand father, son- husband and wife and a little boy to that parent.

Once there was an old man. His age was near to seventy five years, whose eyes had become dim, his ears were dull of hearing, his knees trembles, and when he sat at able he could he could hardly hold the spoon and split the rice upon the tablecloth or let it trouble out of his mouth. His son and his son’s wife disgusted at this and no longer let him sit at the table with them. The old grand father now had to sit in the corner. They gave him his food in an old china bowl and not even enough of it. He used to look towards the table with his eyes full of tears.

Once, his weak, shacking hands could not hold the bowl and it fell to the ground and broke. The young wife scolded him but he said nothing and only sighted. They bought him a mud pot for a few paisas, out of which he had to eat. The only person who was kind to him was his four –year old grandson. But mother scolded the child for wasting his time with the old man.

At last one day, the old grandfather grew ill and died. The grandson wept but the man and his wife were secretly glad to be rid of him. After a few days, the young wife removed the old man’s clothes and other things and threw them out of the house. The little boy ran outside and picked up the mud pot from the junk. ``Why are picking that ugly thing up?’’ asked his mother. The boy said, ``I can also use it for you and father when you grow old’’.
