first of all.. Im fan of both of 'em!!

..Spielberg is simply great.. He has grab Oscars and He has directed Block buster movies too!! Thats nt small achievement..

..He can make award - wining movies like 'Schindler's List' and 'Saving Private Ryan'

..He can make Sci - Fi Block Busters like 'E.T.' and 'Jurassic Park'

..He can make fast paced sci - fi thrillers like "Minority Report' and' War Of The Worlds'

..and he can create a classic adventure saga like 'Indiana Jones'

..and his forthcoming movie ' Tintin ' is animation!! A successful director with such wonderful versatality..
but nolan..he said he will only go ahead with the sequel if he finds a good enough story....for nolan it had always been art fast...from working with an indie star like bale for a huge project like batman.....to the use of non-linear narration with huge success...

spielberg is a veteran,he has his own style of making movies, his movies are appealing to all people(both cinema lovers and people who watch movies for enjoyment)...he has given like 100 blockbusters....his movies have very sharp twists and turns and no one can deny the fact that they are thoroughly entertaining...
nolan on the other hand has been in the movie industry for only 10 odd years..and till now not a single movie of his has let me down....4 of his movies have been very popular among movie lovers and TDK can be arguably called the best movie of the decade!
i would say wait for ten years then make this comparison....
i would say NOLAN will win hands down!!!
I wonder if Nolan is up to that.. Of course He is talented in Making Thrillers..
spielberg doesn't even compare to nolan.....spielberg's movies lack depth...they are really shallow....and spoonfed to the audience....

nolan's movies are a class apart....i am not saying he is the best...there are directors like coppolla, kubrick, kurosawa, scorsese, leone, welles ahead of him......

but then not the likes of spielberg and allen.....

He is also slightly better than QT and guy ritchie....

His 'Batman Begins' and "The Dark Knight' gave super hero movies a new defination!!

'TDK' is d reason why I love to watch movies!!

'Memento' was simply excellent.. well he made 6 movies..

Memento.. massively acclaimed.. same would be for The Prestige..

Batman Begins.. citical and Box - Office sucess

TDK.. highly acclaimed and gigantic box - office sucess!!

..I m pretty sure Nolan is ahead to be Legend in future.. He has proven his talent.. and he is going to turn his future into sucess history.. undoubtebly..

..but for now.. It's simply irrational to compare Nolan and spielberg!!

P.S. Spielberg hasn't yet explored genre of dark and noir thrillers or comic book movies and that's d genre Nolan has explored!!

Nolan has been around for only about 10yrs....he has given us 5 great movies so far. So he has just started, a lot can be expected of him in the future.

Spielberg has been around for almost 50yrs he has changed the course of cinema with great movies like JAWS, INDIANA JONES, E.T , SHINDLERS LIST ,SAVING PRIVTE RYAN.

spielberg is a veteran,he has his own style of making movies, his movies are appealing to all people(both cinema lovers and people who watch movies for enjoyment)...he has given like 100 blockbusters....his movies have very sharp twists and turns and no one can deny the fact that they are thoroughly entertaining...

its right at your face that Nolan and Spielberg fans are more than Burton's fans....Burton's fans are derivatives of a single person....in simple terms Fake votes!

and For giving many unforgettable movies which have changed the way the world used to look at films. Some are as follows -

Jaws :- He transformed this average story into a terrifying suspense with his superb choice of hiding the shark but maintaining its presence for most part of the film.

Raiders of the Lost Ark :- Brilliantly crafted entertainment tht has now become immortal for its contribution to the adventure genre... direction stands out yet again

E.T. The Extra Terrestrial :- Arguably, the greatest family film of all time, a delight for all ages. A simple beautiful story about loneliness, friendship, and the bittersweet pangs of childhood. Spielberg will be remembered for this.

Jurassic Park :- I've grown up watching this flick & I still am in love with it as much as I was the first time. Will always be thankful to Spielberg for giving this film to the world. Its a masterpiece of imagination, vision & the movie tht began the revolution known as, CGI in the cinema world. One of the most special films of my life.

Schindler's List :- What can I say about this? Certainly the most honored film ever. A magnificent form of Art (every scene is an art in itself in this), visually stunning, very powerful, drama at its epic best. The Best work by Spielberg till date, his greatest achievement.

Saving Private Ryan :- The greatest war film of all time. Spielberg didnt only show war in this but simply takes the viewer into it as if its happening in front of our eyes. Its most realistic depiction of war in cinema. Its violent, bloody, brutal, powerful.. everything a war is... even those in army were amazed at its realism.

can see even though how absurd it may sound...people now a days prefer Nolan to Spielberg!

Christopher Nolan
TB is good...but there are many better directors...david fincher, sam mendes,QT....spielberg's movies would typically have great special effects but minimal character development.....

Nolan has given us 5 movies...and 5 out of 5 is his strike rate....

but if you ask me...MARTY RULEZ!!!He is the one who has had the biggest impact in movies since 70's.......he should have won the poll.......

i think terry gilliam is an awesome director as well.....
nolan is a very patient director...that's his biggest strength.....he wouldn't make a movie unless he was absolutely sure about the script and the plot..which is why he doesn't make a lot of movies.....to make a movie like following without absolutely anything that's something i doubt many else can do?

Currently, the best director at present... This man does not use the story but its narration to make it work... One of the most creative & intelligent directors of modern cinema, Nolan's movies always have something unique... and the quality is never compromised.

Memento :- The film tht announced Nolan as the next big thing to the whole world. Average story, nothin extraordinary.. but Nolan makes it far more than extra-ordinary by his brilliant way of narrating it... a special landmark in non-linear narration, this is Nolan's masterpiece.

Batman Begins :- A completely devastated franchise reboots with Nolan at director's helm. And the result, Nolan brings Batman to the real world... no fantasy, no fun.. this commercial film goes straight to the top of the best superhero films at its time... without compromising with the quality.

The Prestige :- Non linear narration, I had no idea what's going on when watched it for the first time... by the end, every unclear thing becomes clear.. I wasnt able to stop applauding for Nolan... this film defines Nolan's genius in telling a story.

The Dark Knight :- Arguably, the most popular film of the decade. A landmark in its genre... well beyond the reach of any other superhero film, including Batman Begins. Nolan's direction soars new heights. Surpassed all hype n expectations like no other film. One film tht can match the greatness of The Godfather & other classics, it is unique. A landmark in use of IMAX too... first film tht shot long action sequences in IMAX.. and the effects are much better, even after the minimal use of CGI. Currently, my fav film of all time

Steven Spielberg is no doubt better... but if we look at the first 5 films by Spielberg n Nolan... Nolan easily wins hands down.

Now, it would be foolish to say tht Nolan has surpassed Spielberg... but it also cant be ruled out tht the way Nolan is going, he will surpass him in a decade or maybe less.

But till then, Spielberg will remain the master of storytelling... his films are for all audiences whereas Nolan's films have a cult following, like tht of Quentin Tarantino, David Fincher, Stanley Kubrick etc etc

Therefore, Steven Spielberg RULES
