Do you guide your thoughts or are you guided by them? The power of thought is certainly the greatest of all the faculties with which human beings are endowed. A wise man rightly said: " Today we are where our thoughts have led us, and tomorrow we will be where we focus our thoughts."

What is important and interesting to know is that it takes more energy to think negatively than to think positively. A man who feels inferior will gradually attain a similar attitude towards life. Worse yet, your negative thoughts could have an adverse effect on others. If you constantly treat your child like a little monster, then rest assured he will do everything to satisfy your thoughts. Even if one hasn’t been treated well in their youth, it’s not a valid reason to treat other’s the same way. Of course the opposite is also equally true. Love your child and encourage them to be inquisitive and you will be blessed with a compassionate thinking child.

Everything that exists today was originally a thought. Whatever you do, is the result of a positive or negative thought. It's better to learn to control your thoughts than be controlled by it. Positive thoughts help the body produce astonishing energy that enables the body, mind and spirit to work in perfect harmony.

We are constantly having internal conversations within ourselves everyday. How much of those thoughts are constructive? A little introspection will tell you whether your thoughts are helping you move closer to your goals or taking you further away. If your thoughts inspire you, then you may have already mastered the art of self motivation. However, if your thoughts aren’t exactly helping you, then there’s no need to worry. You are like the most of us and your thoughts can still be programmed to direct you in the right direction.

It is true that our thoughts often come from our past experiences. As a child, there might be incidents over which some of us had no control and they continue to influence our thought process. But as an adult we have a choice to let ourselves languish in the past or to take control of our thoughts and sail into the future with confidence. If you develop a habit of positive thinking, the challenges that life tosses at you become much easier to face.
