You should do what you like most
Most people are not sure about their jobs and carriers. They never try to find out about their area of interest where as that has very crucial part to play when it comes to job satisfaction. If you were in a job, which you cherish by heart, you would give it your all. Whereas in case if the area of job you are in is not of your liking the chances are that you shall only find it a way to earn money but may not give it your hundred percent, that makes all the difference.
People who choose to work under influence of their parents or they want to become what they are not interested to be in they do not get as much success as much they could achieve if they were in a field of their choice. To be in a field of choice determines a lot and responsible for your becoming successful or not so successful. Therefore, this is advisable to make a choice very carefully. This is not wise to be some one else, which you are supposed to be, you are not destined to be.
Know yourself
This is not wrong to look and see what people are doing around, what are the opportunities available for you. This you can analyze and find the best carrier for yourself because there is no one else who knows you better than yourself. Make sure that while you are finding a person who is doing very good and you want to be some one like him that you have the matching qualities.
If you start planning in a specialized sector, this is wise to evaluate yourself specifically. That would save you from disappointment in case you fall short of qualification criteria and understand it at a later stage while you have already spent money and time on that particular project.
Could I become Amitabh Bachchan or Prakash Padukorne?
I used to be in college while Amitabh Bachchan was touching the greater heights and was on peak of his popularity. I even met him on a few occasions in different places where he was shooting from different movies. I knew he was in a job and he achieved what he did with his talents. He could have continued in his job and have spent his life with altogether different carrier.
However, the question is, could I become an actor like Amitabh Bachchan because I was as tall as him and probably a little better looking. This never came to my mind because that was not my idea to become an actor. I wanted to be marketing professional all along and that is what I am. I used to play badminton while in college and played a few games with players like Prakash Padukorne and Syed Modi, as they were my contemporary. However, I never thought to become professional badminton player because that was not field of priority, I always wanted to be a marketing professional.
Any one can achieve what he likes only when he knows what he wants to be, he knows his areas of interests. He should know the fields where he is likely to be most successful. There is no use selecting a field, which may attract due to money or fame but you have no aptitude for that. The chances are you shall not succeed. Therefore, this is best to know your area of interests before choosing your future carrier.
There are people who reached to the top with hard work
However, that was possible because they were not only willing to achieve their targets and had the unbeatable willpower to achieve their goals. They had the will of iron to overcome any problems they faced that crossed their path. They did not have the slightest of doubts about their abilities to achieve what they wanted to achieve- Here is a boy who comes from a simple background and has done wonders in his choosen field.

There is another point here that we should keep in our mind that one can achieve some thing with his hard work but unless one is doing this achievement in his desired field of interest, he would never reach to the top because there would not be the desired driving force that takes some one to the top. Therefore, interest and desire to reach to the top is the key to success.
Never do it because others are doing it
That is not the right choice for you because your friends are doing it. Every one has his own ways and thinking. You have your own qualities in yourself and you are not destined to reach to the same place where all of your other friends are supposed to reach, because you are different from them. Every one has his own qualities so never try to follow them. You should know your own fields of interest to choose from which attract you most.
You see the persons who achieved their goals were determined to do it despite all the adversities and hindrance, but they never allowed any thing to stop them from achieving what they wanted to achieve. The people who achieved them had the unparallel will to achieve what they wanted to be.
Just look at the greats like Sachin Tendulkar, PT Usha, Vishvanathan Anand, Sayna, Saniya and so many like them. Look at our late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and look at the people like them who came from nowhere and took the world by storm because they knew what they were looking for and they had the will power to achieve it.
You look at things the way you want to look at them
You know there is a famous saying ‘The way you look at things the things change’ that is true. Someone with a pessimistic outlook would look at every thing with suspicion while some one with an optimistic view would go deeper in to the same and would try to find more and trust me come out with some thing more positive out of it.
A pessimistic will never find any thing positive from a straightforward opportunity while the person with an optimistic view would turn any thing into a success story. Now this is your chance to decide about your future and the way you want to do it. I wish you All the Best.
