asylum- he protection granted by a nation to someone who has left their native country as a political refugee

barrack- provide (soldiers) with accommodations in a building or set of buildings

booth- a small temporary tent or structure, used esp. for the sale or display of goods at a market or fair

bungalow- a low house, with a broad front porch, having either no upper floor or upper rooms set in the roof, typically with dormer windows.

castle- a large building or group of buildings fortified against attack with thick walls, battlements, towers, and in many cases a moat.

convent- a Christian community under monastic vows, esp. one of nuns.

cottage- a small simple house, typically one near a lake or beach.

dormitory- a large bedroom for a number of people in a school or institution.

harem- the separate part of a Muslim household reserved for wives, concubines, and female servants.

hospital- an institution providing medical and surgical treatment and nursing care for sick or injured people.

hotel- an establishment providing accommodations, meals, and other services for travelers and tourists.

house- a building for human habitation, esp. one that is lived in by a family or small group of people.

hovel- a small, squalid, unpleasant, or simply constructed dwelling.
• archaic an open shed or outbuilding, used for sheltering cattle or storing grain or tools.

hut- a small cottage

inn- a house in which travelers are taken in

jail-  a place of forcible confinement.

lodge-  a temporary dwelling.

mansion- a large house.

monastery-   an abode of monks

nunnery- an adobe for nuns.

palace- he official residence of a sovereign, archbishop, bishop, or other exalted person

penitentiary-  a prison for small crimes

penthouse- an apartment on the top floor of a tall building, typically luxuriously fitted and offering fine views.

prison- a jail

shanty-  a cabin.

shed-  a hut

sky-crapper-  a very tall building

tavern- an inn

tent-  a portable lodge

villa- a pleasant residence in the country
