FAMINE means the complete shortage of food and water. People and other animals begin to die for want of food and water. Femine used to come before forty-fifty years ago when the communication and globlisation were not so much developed. Now a days Famine comes but its disaster is not proved so much effective. There is an example of a Famine of 1904. Huge number of death occurred INDIA was under the British rule. British government interfered into the matter and relief was provided by it. The next example is of 1943. There was a great Famine in Bengal. Hundreds and thousands of men, women and children died out of the scarity of fodders and water.
Now-a-days the world has developed to such an extent that none of the disasters can be confined to a certain country or place the whole world disturbs with any disaster. All the developed countries come forward to heip the affected country. So, there is no Famine now a days.
The chief reason of Famine is the drought. When rain does not fall timely, the crops dry up, all the wells, ponds and river dry up. THe water level within earth gose down. The earth becomes dry. The grass in the field dries up. The animals do not get their fodders and water. They begin to die. The people also do not get their food and fall ill. It causes their death. INDIA which was said to be the land of milk and honey becomes the country of Famine, floods and proverty. There are several other causes of Famine. India is the land of villages. Villagers depend on agriculture. But the agricultural method is still very old and backward. The people have to depend on sky If there is no rain timely the agriculture fails and causes Famine. The world has so much developed in science and technologies that a number of modern methods of farming have developed. If the farmers are up to date in the knowledge of depend on rains. Thus, the fowiva causes the failure of rains and backwardness of agriculture. The rising population is also not less responsible for Famine. The rise in food production is not so rapid. So, there happens to be the shortage of food. All these are responsible for Famine.
The Famine affected country takes help from other developed countries. But it should also develop its new technologies and scheme. Begging is not a good thing so independence of teh country should be tried by developing the scientific method of farming. The rising population would also be checked by family planing scheme.
