Introduction

In India we can see two types of families, nuclear family and joint family. In nuclear family consists of father, mother and children. In joint family grandfather, grandmother, uncle, aunt and their children also live together. We share our works altogether in our family. We also share our happiness and sorrow also. We respect our elders and do some acts like we go together for shopping, and to see a movie in theater. We enjoy many occasions. In one word we are altogether in birth and in last journey. This is our culture. India is also an example of unity of diversity. There are many national festivals and local festivals or regional festivals. We celebrate those festivals also with all together irrespective of different religion or caste. This is our culture.

Cultures and customs

In most area women go to her father in law’s house with their husband. In villages we see many families stay within same area. In town different families live in different floor in a same flat. They may be in same of different cast but think all as brother and sisters. This is our culture. We work in different fields but all are same and respect all and also their works.

Food habits and items also are different in different area. We love to eat and taste all type of foods. Clothes are also different but we love to wear all and decorate ourselves in different occasions. We send our children to school where they can learn the thought of unity and culture and customs of India.

Custom is a guide of a human life. It helps to know the soul of country and about the people.

In sports: The Indians love to play sports and to see different games. Cricket and football are mostly common games. There are also many other games and sports, played here. There also we can see the unity and also culture of India. They play as a unit and always try to prove ourselves great.

Now arts: Different types of arts and architecture are famous in our country. In literature it is said that Sanskrit is the mother of all languages and this Sanskrit is originated in great India. Arts of India are most popular in the world. From Indus Valley civilization there are many examples of sculptures are present still now to proof this. There are many museums which hold the different arts of different area and of different times may be dramatical or musical or traditional. The Ramayana, the Mahabharata, The Bible and The Quran are the holy books which help us to learn our cultures and guide us in every path of life.

India is also famous in art of jewelry, textiles, and paintings on walls of mud houses and also in many architecture in temples or in big houses. The Taj Mahal is bearing a great instance which was built in Indo-Islamic style. Ajanta Ilora paintings focus our ancient creation.

Culture in dance: Dance is a highly cultural event in India. There are many classical dances in different form in different area like- Bhrat natyam, Kathak, Kathakali, Manipuri, Odisi, and folk dances like bhangra. Western is attractive but Indian classical dance has a artistic value.

Theater and film culture

In India there is a distinguished tradition in theater and film sector for more than hundreds years.Sanskrit drama were started to play from the era of Gupta. Still now we are following those popular traditional and historical themes. Due to advance technologies now we can see through cinema and also in television. Bollywood is called the centre of Hindi film industry. It is true that India produces more movies than any other country of the world. Through this media we and the whole world are seeing our art and culture.

Museum and Libraries: There are more than Sixty thousands libraries and four hundred seventy five museum in India. In Kolkata national library stores all books and magazines published in India in all languages. In New Delhi  National Gallery of Modern Art is situated.

We are very much proud to be Indian with a versatile stock of Various arts and cultures. There is a proverb ,”Which is not in India, is not in Universe” . India has a common harmony through different languages,religions and customs. 

I want to end with a Part of a poem-Written by Rabindranath Tagore. It is taken from Getanjali.

                                “Where the mind is without fear
                                  And the head is held high;
                                  Where knowledge is free;
                       Where the world has not been broken up
                       Into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
                  Where word come out from the depth of truth.
