Marriage - starting of a new relation
Introduction
This is a socially approved relation between a man and a woman. One can expect a stable and sweet relationship for the rest of life after marriage. It is a tradition, which all follow in all countries. It happens with a ceremony, which is called wedding ceremony.All relitives and friends attend and take part in this social cerenony. It is also registered in Government house also.
Necessity.
It is a relationship between two persons of opposite gender. We are allowed to live together in a house and can reproduce our next. A man and a woman take oath to walk together for the rest of life and also undertake responsibility to provide food, clothes, shelter and care about their children.
After marriage.
After marriage the male is called husband and the female is called wife. Previously said that it is a social permission to live together, but in many areas (especially in western countries) it is not defined as such. Living together or any sexual relations and taking responsibilities are also allowed. They don’t believe in any wedding ceremony. After liking they decide to live together. But in our country still now without marriage a young boy and girl are not permitted to stay together. So it helps to make an emotional and sexual relationship between a particular pair.
How to choose a partner
First of all each human on reaching a particular age is permitted to choose a life partner. In our country the appropriate age for a boy is minimum 21 years and for a girl minimum 18. Selecting the partner varies according to different culture. In most cultures parents undrtake the responsibility. Some times young generation chooses the life partner from after a love relationship.
Meet and know each other
Many times a married relationship breaks due to some misunderstanding. When there is some mismatch after marriage, then possibility of breaking may happen. So it is said now a days that it would be better to know each other before marriage. So spending some time with each other may build a good relation in future. Then it is better to make an engagement. But without marriage any sexual relationship should not be built up. Common characteristic couples get success in married life. Common characteristics may include economic status and educational qualification etc.
Types of marriage
Generally there are two types of marriage in our society. One is arranged marriage and the other is love marriage. In arranged marriage parents play an important role. They help to choose the partner and this custom is prevails in many areas. It helps to make a good relationship between two families also. They come close of each other and are together in happiness as well as sorrow. Even in many areas groom and bride meet in the time of wedding. But in many cases and in many cultures dowry system is also followed in arranged marriage. But taking dowry and giving dowry is a bad practice.
In love marriage the couple choose themselves on their own. A relation of friendship is made before marriage and this will help to come closer in future. Love marriage is not permitted in many traditions. Even now many parents are against of it. They think that their children are playing with their prestige.
Some rule of marriage
Now every marriage needs be registered with appropriate Government authority by complying with prescribed criteria. Registration may be done before marriage or after marriage. But in both case the groom should be 21 and the bride should be 18(minimum). Marriage with more than one is not allowed . After divorce or due to death of partner, one ca remarry. But in many western country more than one husband or wife is allowed. This is called polygamy.
Pattern and trend of marriage
Through out the world this varies according to the custom. In our country it varies according to different cultures, customs, tradition, or religion. Normally bride goes to groom's house after marriage. Mostly the average age of a groom is 25-30 and bride 20-25. There are some execptions also. After marriage the couple goes for a honeymoon to know and understand each other better. They spend some days together and take oath to live together with a great understanding.
One important thing to remember
The individual should go for a blood test before marriage as same group holders have some risk of sexually transmitted diseases. It is safe to save the future.
Homosexual marriage
Now govt. has given permission to marry between two homosexual persons. Previously it was a controversial matter.
Some tips to have a happy marriage life.
- Faith- Faith and trust is main matter to keep strong in any relation. So we should be faithful to each other, otherwise the relation may break. Faith helps the partners to come closer and increases the loving.
- Act together- Always do anything together, it will solve many hard equation. Listen others view and say sorry if you are wrong.
- Consultation- consult if any problem comes. Daily sit together once in a day and discuss the whole days activities and plan about your future.
- Be a charity minded- Don’t try to focus yourself only, always say we. Don’t put your selfish need anytime.
- Use kind words- use some loving words when you will talk with spouse. Even when you will not be in mood or will be in angry mood ,it will be better to go away and need not say anything. When you will be in calm minded then discuss about the problem.
- Give some beautiful gifts- many occasion will come like marriage anniversary and birthday. Give some thoughtful gift with some wishing words.
- Maintain a friendship relation- Your spouse may be a best friend of you as he/she are always with you. So if any moment comes as tough moments try to remember the partner as a best friend. Always acknowledge the presence of others and try to help others.
- Some relation breaks after a long time and it is not right so maintain a happy marriage life.
