, Teenagers, never allow distractions to distort your future
This article is addressed in particular, to the teenagers, who are between the age of 14 and 17, as of now. Thanks to the explosion of television, and the social media, it is becoming increasingly clear that teenagers are very much distracted. This distraction has lead to very undesirable social consequences.
One of such consequences, which is not at all desirable, is the so-called "love" affair. Thanks to what is shown in the movies, young men and women, urgently fall in love with each other, sometimes as if it is divine. Many of such children do not concentrate on their studies, and the parents are not able to control them at all. There have been instances where the parents have even committed suicide, because their daughters have eloped with boys, even when they are hardly sixteen years old.
Teenagers should understand that such distractions can spoil their life, forever. For instance, it is now commonly seen that teenagers who do not observe the basic minimum discipline in the so-called "love' affairs, often get married in a hurry. Even when the law cannot do anything when they attain the age of eighteen, they face a horrible future, when the realities of life hit them straight in their faces. They do not have regular jobs, as they are not even graduates.
Even if the boy is a graduate, he is often not very skilled, and lands up in jobs that fetch him very inadequate pay. If the girl does not adjust herself to very harsh conditions, life becomes a misery, as both husband and wife often keep fighting among themselves. This leads to more misery.
In fact, this author is aware of several cases where the parents in either side do not support the boy or the girl, as they feel that they have done a big injustice, and have got for them, a shame that they have to repent for the rest of their lives.
Another problem is the misuse of the social media. Even if someone is a close relative, it is very unwise to share cell phone numbers on social media, or even the email. One can be friends, and just exchange ideas, at best. However, even this should be restricted and should not be done with strangers. Facebook has become the largest social networking site. It has helped people come together. It has helped many social causes.
However, misuse of Facebook is now causing great harm to the lives of innocent people. Many undesirable things are going on. Young boys, between the age of sixteen and seventeen, entice girls of more or less their age, get them to share some intimate moments, capture this on camera, and happily ensure that a big process of blackmail is on. The girl is forced to fall in "love" or go for compulsory dates with the boy concerned.
Some girls are unable to bear the torture, and have even committed suicides. Hence, every single girl, who is a teenager, should be very careful, and never become friends with those who are not known to them. In every single case of friendship, the parents should also be kept informed. In fact, if any blackmail takes place, before something goes out of hand, the police should be involved.
Similarly, peer pressure is making the teenagers to adopt to alcohol, or smoking. What starts off as a small "experiment" becomes a nasty habit that ruins ones life. All such temptations should be avoided and teenagers should always concentrate only on their studies. If they attempt anything out of the way, they are in for trouble.
Parents and teachers also need to play a big role. Being attracted to members of the opposite sex is very natural, among teenagers. Parents could allow group studies and healthy interaction in social functions and so on. Spending quality time, particularly in counseling their teenage children, should be a big activity. Parents should not give any excuse that they lead busy lives. Any distraction of a dangerous nature, can completely spoil the lives of the teenagers for ever.
Professional counselors need to appointed in every school, at least on a part-time basis. We cannot neglect this aspect any longer. For, the counselors can easily help the teenagers to make quick amends and come back to normal lives, where they can concentrate a lot on their studies.
It is very essential that teenagers stay on truck and only concentrate on studies. Education is always the key to good jobs, and fat salaries. The teenagers should realize these facts sooner or later and do all that they can to move on in life, without any distractions.
