Diappointed by India's perfomance in final against Sri Lanka in tri- series..
It was the final match between India and Sri Lanka of the tri- series between India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The series had went well till now for both India and Sri Lanka. I had already made plans to watch the full match properly. I was eagerly waiting for the toss as toss was very important . Toss plays a important part in day and Night matches teams who case may easily reach the target.Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first. Sri Lanka had the advantage of winning the toss . India may have to bowl when there will be dew on the ground which is hard for spinners.The match started. I love seeing India's batting at the start when Virendar Sehwag fires. India lost Gautam Gambhir earlier he was bowled by a bowl which hit his legs and took the leg stump. It was some what bad luck for Gambhir. The wickets were going from the other end and Virendar Sehwag was batting well. Still i was hoping that some partnership happens and India will reach good target. Sehwag trying to play a shot over the wicket keeper lost his wicket when he was on 44. India were in deep trouble Many overs around 40 were remaining and It had lost 5 wickets. The last recognised batting pair was of Raina and Jadeja all hopes of India were on them. Jadeja got out on 38 while Raina was batting very well . Raina made a century and helped India to reach 245. Sri Lanka had to make 246.
Sri Lanka start was also not good they lost wicket very soon . Ashish Nehra took the first wicket. India hopes had increased. But it was a disappointment when Nehra got injured and left the field. Dilshan , Sangakkara, Jaywardena batted well. Jaywardena batted very well and made a brilliant 71.India bowlers also bowled well. Harbhajan spinned the bowl lot but failed to help India to win. Sri Lanka were able to reach the target of 246 runs. India missed Nehra as they had to bowl one bowler short.Thus India lost the tri- series may be mainly due to the poor perfomance by the batsman. I felt bad as all the Indians might have felt. India's record to lost in finals didnt changed. It shows that Indian team fail in important matches due to pressure on them. Indian team need to learn to play in pressure and get more good results which will make us more proud.
