Contrary to everybody expectations the ongoing tri series between hosts Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and India proved to be the most interesting series ever. When Zimbabwe won their first match against India everybody knew it was a fluke, but by marching into the final they have proved the entire cricketing world wrong.

What has been remarkable about Zimbabwe's performance is the fact that they have literally stormed into the final and that has stunned the cricketing world.  Many would have given Zimbabwe only a chance of a upset or two or at the best scrape into the final but what Zimbabwe have achieved is nothing short of being termed a exceptional performance.  Whatever happens in the final Zimbabwe can proudly hold their heads high topping the league comfortably having won 3 of the 4 matches and what is more important is that they won all the matches very comfortably and that is reflected in their net run rate which is almost as twice as that of the next best team Sri Lanka.

Indians on other hand should not have any grievances of being knocked out of the tournament as they put in a pathetic performance.  With the exception of Rohit Sharma hardly anybody scored runs and whatever others scored came at a snails pace. The bowling was even worse with Dinda and company failing to get wickets and got clobbered to add up to the misery.  The series also proved that Yusuf Pathan too is a media hype like his younger brother Irfan. The series also proved another thing that the much hyped young brigade with the likes of Raina and company are only good in supporting roles when they share the crease with a senior player like Sachin, Dhoni or Sehwag.

After seeing Zimbabwe's exceptional performance it is only fair that all of us wish Zimbabwe go on to win the tournament and  that would be a just reward for their brilliant show in the league.  A Zimbabwean wean also would inspire many in Zimbave to make an effort to get into their national team.
