In general Indian team is known to be unlucky in world cricket as far as results are concerned as many things are concerned much in the same vein people talk about the famous luck Pakistan have enjoyed over the years.  Firstly whenever Indians have pushed hard for victories rains have intervened and whenever Indians wanted rains to save them that has never come and the best example is the first test of the three test series played at Galle which India lost. However one consolation India had was Mahendra Singh Dhoni's famous luck in his remarkable career as skipper.

Unfortunately for India Dhoni's luck too is running out and though it gave a glimmer of hope to the Indian Skipper in the form of Man of the Match at Galle Test, Lasith Malingabeing ruled out due to injury that weas compensated as he lost the toss yet again to his counterpart Sangakkara.  The Sri Lanka Skipper and Galle Test hero Paranavitana made merry taking Sri Lanka to 312 for 2 in 90 overs.  Dhoni's main worry over the years was his pacers and they yet again proved ineffective as Ishant Sharma and Abhimanyu Mithun were carted for 141 overs in 32 overs for a solitary wicket. While it was well known to the Indian skipper that his pacers were going to be ineffective what would have worried the Indian skipper is the fact that even Harbhajan skipper the most successful bowler among active cricketers in the world has failed to make a impression in this series. It is pathetic to see Dhoni relying on part timers like Sehwag to get breakthroughs.   While Sehwag is extremely competent and skilled enough at getting breakthroughs an aspect which he has proved time and again, it would be too much to expect him to take five wicket hauls or run through an innings.

Going by the score at the end of first day, it looks as if Indians would be looking at a draw as the best result in the second test unless the Lankan batsmen throw their wickets or Ishant Sharma comes up with an extraordinary spell of fast bowling something which he has never shown in his career. If one looks at the current Indian bowling line up and Indian win can be made  possible by Sri Lankanbatsman throwing their wickets in both the innings and their batters put up a mammoth score at a rollicking pace on expected lines
