Hi friends in this article am posting the details of the ongoing IPL auction for the fourth season.With the suspension of Lalit Modi  former chairman and commissioner. There was huge amount of expectation for the season 4. The auction for around 350 players will take place in two days.

The auction for the fourth Indian Premier League (IPL) season had began in Bangalore today for around 350 cricketers.With the introduction of two new teams(Kochi and Pune), the battle for the players were huge.In the first day totally 88 cricketers were put in auction. The first day of the auction has already given some shockers.

KEY FACTS:

• A cap of $9 million is given for each team owners.
• Introduction of two new teams Kochi  and Pune .
• 12 players were retained by the franchise for IPL 4 
• Anil Kumble, Matthew Hayden and Glenn McGrath not in part of IPL 4.
• Anil Kumble pulling out from the auction due to business commitments.
• Key players for IPL 4 auction (FOREIGN) - Jacques Kallis, Andrew Symonds, Brain Lara, Doug Bollinger, Michael Hussey, AB De Villiers, David Warner, David Hussey, Adam Gilchrist, Dale Steyn, Cameron White, Muttiah Muralitharan and Mahela Jayawardane.
• Key players for IPL 4 auction (INDIAN) - Saurabh Tiwary, Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan,Robin Uthappa and R Ashwin.

DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS:

• 72 players were sold on Day 1 of the auction. 
• 16 players were unsold but they have a second chance at the end for re-bidding on Day 2 auction.
• The unsold players list had some great players like Ganguly, Lara and Gayle. 
• Most of the English players were unsold in Day 1.
• Highest bid for INDIAN player  Gautam Gambhir - 11.04 Crores.
• Highest bid for FOREIGN  player  Mahela Jayawardane - 6.9 Crores
• 12 players were retained by the franchise for IPL. Follwing are the retained players

               Chennai  Super Kings - M.S. Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Albie Morkel and M. Vijay.

               Mumbai Indians -  Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Kieron Pollard and Lasith Malinga.

               Royal Challengers -  Bangalore- Virat Kohli

               Rajasthan Royals - Shane Warne, Shane Watson.

               Delhi Daredevils - Virender Sehwag
