What is Cricket?
Cricket is a very famous game in the indian subcontinent. Although england is considered as the home of cricket, its gaining more popularity worldwide. It is a bat and ball game. The Governing body of cricket is the international cricket council(ICC). The game is played with eleven players per side. Currently there are three forms of cricket. They are test cricket,one day cricket and twenty twenty cricket.
The test match is played for five days with two innings per side. One day match is played for 50 overs per side in a single day. Twenty twenty match is played for 20 overs per side. It is the shortest form of the game and its gaining more popularity than the other forms of the game.
The fifty over world cup takes place once in 4 years. The defending champions of the fifty over world cup is australia. The twenty twenty cup was introduced in 2007. India won the inagural edition and currently pakistan is the defending champion.
Some of the lengendary players of the game are don bradman,sunil gavaskar,sachin tendulkar,brain lara and ricky pointing.
