The fourth day belonged to Sri lankans. Mahela Jayawardena and Prasanna Jayawardena were at the crease at the start of this day. And these two batsmen batted for the full first session. They displayed a splendid performance with the bat and outplayed all the Indian bowlers. As soon as the second session of play started, Amit Mishra took the valuable wicket of Mahela(275) and after that the Sri lankans played for 9 overs and declared at a score of 760, with a lead of 334. Trailing by such a huge score, Sehwag and Gambhir started the innings in a fluent style and played for the entire second session. At the first over of the third session, Sehwag(51) lost his wicket, trying to clear the boundary. Then Dravid and Gambhir built a useful partnership. Just when this partnership was looking dangerous Dravid(36) lost his wicket. At the end of fourth day's play Gambhir and Mishra are at the crease. And still India trial by 144. So the first session of fifth day's play is going to be crucial for both the teams. Srilanka would try to win this test to create a new history, and India would strive hard to draw this test to maintain the history.
