Hi friends in this article let us discuss about the India’s performance in the third day of the second test against Sri Lanka in Kanpur. “Amazing and Mind Blowing” is the only word which can be used to explain the performance of India in the third day, because it was really an unexpected performance by India which eventually mad their job very easy as they need to take only 6 wickets, with a couple of days left. The reason why I mentioned it as unexpected performance is because, India managed to grab 13wickets in a day, which was more than expected.

India started the day well and this time the man who is back to the team after a long time did the job for India as he got the early blow for India. He struck three wickets before lunch and was responsible for collapse of Sri Lankan top order and reduced the score to 111/4.Then Harbhajan came into the act and he also got rid of Angelo Mathews with a superb delivery, which bowled him. At first everybody thought Doni hit the stumps with the help of his gloves as he was trying for a stumping chance. But the relay later showed that the ball slightly hit the bails and Mathews was clearly out bowled.

Then both the Jayawardena’s stayed there for a rescue act and they also build a valuable partnership of around 60 runs, and it seems as if they will repeat the same things as they done in Ahmedabad. But finally, it was Sreesanth again who gave the break through as he got the wicket of Prasana Jayawardena. Really it was a lazy and unnecessary shot played by Prasana at that crucial time, when he was building a good partnership with Mahela and he was caught behind by Doni. This was a very important wicket and it exposed the Sri Lankan tail enders and moreover this gave a chance for Indian bowlers to bowl against the tail enders.

But the biggest wicket was that of Mahela’s and this wicket was taken by the debutant left arm spinner Prajan Ojha. Earlier in that same over Mahela came down the wicket and hit a four, and he was caught by Sachin when he tried a similar kind of short again. Really it was a fantastic bowling performance by Ojha as he was very economic and at one stage he just gave 23 runs in his 16 overs.  he also got the wicket of Murali, LBW, and finished the first innings with a figure of 37 runs from 23 overs at an economy of just 1.60 per over, with a couple of wickets.

India wrapped u the tail enders and the Lankans were all out for 229 and the hero of the day was none other than Sreesanth who took 5 wickets in his return test match and this was his second 5 wickets haul or him. Not only that he also got a wicket in the second innings, because the Lankans followed on and continued their second innings, and more importantly they had a disastrous start as they finished the day with 57/4, with Mathews and Samaraweera at the crease. So as the Lankans trail by around 350 runs, India has a great chance of winnings this second test and let us hope that, we will do it in a style, by winning the Kanpur with an innings to spare.
