The Great Sachin Tendulkar was born in Mumbai on April 24th 1973. He studied in Sharadashram Vidyamandir High School. He began his cricketing career when he was still in school under the guidance of Ramakant Achrekar. He was trained in MRF Pace Foundation initially as a fast bowler but Dennis Lillee suggested that Sachin Tendulkar should focus on his batting instead of bowling. He scored centuries in every match he played in the year 1988, and he was involved in a record breaking 664 runs partnership with Vinod Kambli in an inter school game. Sachin Tendulkar became the youngest batsman to score 100 runs in a first class match on debut for team Mumbai. He then went on to make another 100 on debut in both Duleep Trophy and Irani Trophy and ended up being the highest run scorer for Bombay. Dilip Vengsarkar was so admired about this young lad's performance. He immediately selected him in the Indian National Team for the tour of Pakistan.

 

At the age of 16 years Sachin Tendulkar made his International Test debut against Pakistan. In 1990, he scored his first test century against England. In 1992, he became the first overseas player to represent Yorkshire. Sachin Tendulkar scored his maiden one day International hundred against Australia in 1994.He made his first double century against Australia for Mumbai in 1998. Sachin Tendulkar gained momentum in his early twenties as he hit multiple centuries against the worlds leading cricket teams. He became the highest scorer in both the 1996 world cup and 2003 world cup. Eventually, he went past Brian Lara making him the highest test scorer.

 

Sachin Tendulkar has more than 60 world records. He is the highest run getter in both one day internationals and test cricket. He has most hundreds in both one day internationals and test cricket. He holds the record for the most number of man of the match awards and man of the series awards in one day internationals. Sachin Tendulkar now has over 30,000 runs in international cricket making him the highest run getter of all times in both forms of the game.

 

He has won numerous awards and honors. including Wisden cricketer of the year award. Padma Vibhushan, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjuna award. Sachin Tendulkar was ranked the second greatest test batsman of all time by Wisden in the year 2002.He was also ranked the second greatest one day international batsman of all time by Wisden Sachin Tendulkar has become one of the highest paid cricketers in the world. Sachin has advertising commitments for many brands including Boost, Adidas, Pepsi, Britannia, Sunfeast,Fiat Palio, Reynolds, Visa, Phillips, Airtel and MRF. Even the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown suggested that Sachin Tendulkar be given the honor of Knighthood. Sachin Tendulkar has billions of fans all over the world. Sachin Tendulkar is God. He is a living legend. He is the Master blaster of world cricket.
