#)Formula One which is also called as  F1,is  the highest class of motor sport and it is considered as  the world’s richest sporting series.

#)This sport is regulated by the FIA which is called as Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile and the name “formula” means to there is a  set of rules that the sport  has adopted.

#)The Formula One season consists of a series of races,which is  known as Grand Prix (GP), and the race takes place around the world at different circuits in different country.

#)The circuits are generally closed type but some of them take place  on city roads, and the  most famously the Monaco Grand Prix which is raced around the streets of the principality’s capital Monte Carlo and the image below shows the circuit

#)There are usually 15 to 20 Grand Prix races which takes place each year, and normally it begins with the Australian GP in March of every year.

#)There are usually two drivers per racing, or construction, team.

#)So this means that there are around 22 drivers entered into each race (if there are 11 teams).

#)The number of points taken by a driver throughout the season determines the champion, with the winner of each race taking 10 points (then 8 points for second, 6, for third, 5 for fourth, down to 1 for eighth).

#)And alos runs in parallel  the Constructors’ Championship in which the points won by both drivers of a team are totalled to arrive at that particular constructor’s points total.

#)The FIA first introduced the World Drivers’ Championship in the year 1950.

#)The first race was held at Silverstone, England.

#)The first ever race was  won by the Italian Giuseppe Farina who was world champion that year.

#)The Constructors’ Championship was first competed for in the year  1958.

#)The record for most Championship wins is the seven won by Michael Schumacher (1994-1995, 2000-2004) and he also set the record for GP wins with 91.

#)In the constructor championship ,Ferrari has won the most constructors’ titles with 16.

#)Since 1950 there have been nine British world champions  than any other country and these includes Mike Hawthorn, Graham Hill, Jim Clark, John Surtees, Jackie Stewart, James Hunt, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, and Lewis Hamilton.

#)Other great drivers are Juan Manuel Fangio (Argentina), Alberto Ascari (Italy), Jack Brabham (Australia), Emerson Fittipaldi (Brazil), Niki Lauda (Austria), Nelson Piquet (Brazil), Alain Prost (France), Ayrton Senna (Brazil), Mika Hakkinen (Finland), and Michael Schumacher (Germany).

#)India's Narein Karthikeyan is the only driver from our country to represent F1 and now Vijay Mallaya owns a team called FORCE INDIA, from the year 2008, where it failed in the opening yar but succeed to gain points in the year 2009
