In year 1931, the king of Mysore develops this as a private park for his hunting purpose. In year 1941, the development of the Niligiri Biosphere Reserve after combining some of the major Wildlife sanctuary such as Rajiv Gandhi National Park located in Nagarhole, Wayanad Wildlife sanctuary located in Kerala and Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary located in Tamil Nadu. You can find this National park in the Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka state. This national park spread over an area of 890 square kilometers.   

Type of Flora

This National Park is rich with some of the popular trees such as Teak, Nandi, Honne, Rosewood, Bamboo tree and Dindalu. The presence of all trees make this national park quite denser. All plants, trees and various animals depend on water by four rivers. Apart from this seasonal Streams such as Wadli, The Chammanahalla, Hebballa, Warranchi is also contribute water requirement to this National Park.  Not only this, there are hundreds of men made Ponds and tanks is also available all over this national Park. 

Type of fauna

During the month of march and April, the early monsoon shower is an indicator of the blooming season for this Bandipur National park. On this Blooming season, various birds start laying their eggs in order to complete their family. Some of the animals like Elephant and typical Gaurs start moving freely in this national park. A large number of Tourist start visiting, national park after this season.  Tourists are amazed to see various kinds of Mammals, various kinds of Birds both local and migratory, various reptiles and Amphibian from April to September.  You can find a Kabini Reservoir in the northern part of this National Park. Some of them Such as Leopards, Tigers,  Indian Elephants, Gaurs, Mouse Deer, Hare with black Head, Sloth Beer, Wild dog, Langur, Bonnet Macaque, Jungle Cat, Leopard Cat, Sambar, Chital, Barking Deer, Rusty Spotted Cat, Smaller Indian Civet, Palm Civet, Common Otter, Wild Boar, Jackal, different kinds of Mongoose, Indian Giant Red Squirrel, Chausingha, Porcupines, Slender Loris, Flying Squirrels, Pangolin, Big Fruit Bats and Striped Hyenas. These all animals is a major attraction of this National park as many tourists make their way to National park to see them.

Prefer Right Time To Visit This National Park

You have to select a time that suited best to make way to this Park is from September to November. If any one prefers to make way to this National Park during the summer season, Prefer months such as may and June. But the most Suitable time to visit this National park in winter Season that is from October to March. You are going to see the real beauty of this National park during the winter season. You must Remember that This National park has remained Closed during December. So please make your trip to this National Park according to this.  

Way to Reach There

There are many ways by which you can easily reach this place. You may Prefer Train, Plane or Road for your Journey. If you Prefer Train, you have to go to Nanjungud railway station, 56 KM away from the famous Mysore Railway Station.  If you prefer Airway, you have to move to Mysore airport which is around 82 Km Away from this Bandipur National Park. If you prefer Roadway, you have to move Mysore and Ooty. This place has a good road route that connects Mysore and Ooty to this National Park.  You can also prefer taxi or bus service. 

The Range Of Temperature in this National Park

The National Park in Summer Season has a Temperature ranging from 16 degree C to 28 Degrees C While in Summer with a dry season, the temperature is ranging from 23 Degree C to 33 Degree C.

The Climatic condition of this national Park varies from cold, Dry and wet. Winter Arriving this National Park during November to Feburary. From Feburary to June the National Park remains Dry and hot. After this summer Season, the National Park is attacked by monsoon and remain wet Till October.  This National Park got pre Monsoon rainfall starting from April and continue till may.

Try to make yourself away from smoking and the use of perfumes in This National Park. 2. Try to make yourself away from wearing shining and dazzling clothes because it might disturb the animals of this National park.

  1. Try to follow all rules and regulation provided on the information boards.  
  2. Try to wear clothes of color Green or Brown as it quickly match in this national park, creating less disturbance.
  3. You must carry a safety tools such as First Aid box, Insect repellent etc.
  4. Must carry clothes according to the changing climatic condition. Must carry warm clothes during winter season and prefer cotton and fitting clothes during Summer and hot season.
  5. Must wear shoe that is suitable in such condition. Most prefer to take an additional pair of shoe too.

In year 1981, the Panna National park is established with the mission of saving all animals that are merging on extinction as well as for saving Tiger. This Place is popular because of Diamond mining Industry. Not only this, the Panna National Park is the first choice of all the animal Lovers visitors. The Temperature of the Panna National park during the winter season is less than 20 Degree C. The timing of the monsoon season is the start of July and continues till the middle of the September. It is my advice you to visit this National Park during the Winter season, The Panna national park is Open throughout the Year for visitors.  The national park is Open for Visitor in Between 6:00 AM To 10:30 AM and from  2:30 PM to 5:00 PM each and every day. 

On What way you can reach this Place

Reaching this National Park you might Select Train, Plane as well as by Road. If you prefer the train, you have to Satna which is 95 KM away from this national park.  If you prefer Airways, You have to move to Khajuraho which is about 28 Km away from this national park. You have to move to Panna Bus Stop, if you prefer Road ways.  

Variation Of Temperature in National park

During hot Summer season Temperature rises to 50 Degree C. It retains an average temperature of 43 Degree C during hot summer season. Duration between June to October is quite cool as compare to Summer. This is the best time to visit this place.

Remember these Things while visit This National park

  1. Start your Jungle safari from the Madla Village. This is a Suitable place to start your safari. Suppose that you want to visit this place from the eastern side, select Hindouta. This Places are very close to the Famous Panna Diamond Mines. You may be charged by park legal person, It might vary from person to person.  
  2. You must Remember the opening and closing timing of this Park as mention above.. Always follow that. 
  3. If you want to visit this park, reach half hour before to fill some of the legal formality that is required for each and every visitor.  
  4. Follow the rules and regulation of this national park. Does go into restricted areas declared by park authorities. 
  5. In any case never go very near to the animal in order to feed them. It will be dangerous for your life too. 
  6. Avoid wearing of Shining and Flashy clothes when you are visiting this park. Does not carry any harmful things in the parks. Keep in a safe place all things before Entering into the park. 
  7. Try to Maintain as much silence as you can keep. 
  8. Try to respect animals and nature. Enjoy your trip in a Healthy manner.
