Many court cases were dismissed by the courts because of lack of legibility.  Any number of technical advancements cannot replace hand writing. Person whose handwriting is not good, know the value of good handwriting. I am one of them. First impression is last one. When we meet some one for job. etc our handwriting speak first, then us.

Lopamudra said thank you to Gulshan Kumar Ajmani for his/her reply to the topic What Did Mahatma Gandhi Like to Eat?.
We have discussed various aspects about Mahatama Gandhi's food habits and also other aspects of his life. We may not agree to all his views but there is no doubt that he was great leader of our times. He is rightly calledFatherof Ntion.

Mahatma Gandhi stresses not only  on simplicity but also in setting an example himself by following his principles. Hence the lesson is, though not like Mahatma Gandhi one can stick to simplicity as much as possible within his means. Mahatma Gandhi was fen of natural therapy. Diet therapy is essential part of natural therapy. It may be reason he like simple food and raw food. One should be eat one half their meal as raw food.  All Mahatma Gandhi's beliefs and practices are as simple as Mahatma. They are not only simple but inexpensive too/ Yes I read some where that his got were fed apples.

I regret my hand writing is bad. I have to be vere careful while writing to ensure that this is legible.  Increasing use of computer, internet and phone has made my life easier.  Now bad handwriting is no more as discomforting asthisused to be.  However good handwriting is a virtue.

I am frankly not comfortable with too many choking controls for forum. Ideally a kind of self-control and a free and informal air should prevail and pervade in every part of it.Only understanding the problem of spamming and its able management would go a long in making the a great place to be, not thoughts of putting undesirable shackles on members. I propose to keep forum activities outside the ambit of contests and competitions. For me a sincere 'like' or a warm 'thank you' is quite a reward

I do agree that technology won't pose much of a threat to existence of handwriting. Assimilation or grasp of essence is very effectively aided by wrting whatever one reads in the student days.Even mere copying helps tremendously in retaining memory of for a long time.

The muscles that are responsible for writing are also helpful in keeping the brain functioning. Technicalities aside, writing a note, a birthday greeting or a thank you message personally in your own writing makes a world of a difference than sending it electronically via email or a sms. So writing is an important function and good handwriting, not just reflects your technical finesse, but also the beauty of one's thoughts.   I'm in total agreement with you. Writing is absolutely essential in formative years as you mentioned and formation of letters and words can be best learnt through writing practice. Good calligraphic skills should be encouraged because there is no alternative when it comes to personal messages. A beautifully written not is far more appreciated than a printout !!

@ Shampa, everyone is entitled to their opinion. You believe there is no harm in highlighting negative points of a great leader, I believe we should ignore what is not important (in my opinion it is not important). .You may choose to discuss his practice of Bramhacharya while I wish more weightage is given to Dandi March , non-cooperation movement and the likes .. It's as simple as that. It is not flattery, it is what you choose to discuss. Like you, I'm entitled to my opinion !!

I see. anyhow i could understand more about the night mares in the previous thread when you provided about the Freud. And I too had this experience of night mares when I had typhoid. My sleep got interrupted and it took some time to know that it was the effect of typhoid. Later, of course my doctor too said about the reason for my night mare.

True. the human touch in human hand writing , you cannot get in the gadgets. Additionally, If one's hand writing is both good and artistic like in Calligraphy, one can do business. Calligraphy has many commercial uses. Here in my place there are many calligraphy classes being held and they are making quite good profits.
