Jayen,
I agree with your views.Earlier in Sex education discussion also many have the thought that it will take our children to a curious world and they will begin to investigate on it.But as I told earlier every coin has two sides. It is the morality and character of the person that determins the wise usage.

Ponography is a cheap business trick to exploit the instinct in human beings. The site owners knows that all humans can be easily attracted to this sites. If we look to the statics it is seen that ponographic sites all over the net bags a lion part of browsing time. Why? That is human Character.

Then What is the remedy to this ? The only method is to ban it.Saudi Arabia had banned all such sites. All of us knows that it is a country with less number of crimes committed. How it became so?Due to its strict and rigid laws.If a banned thing is done and caught definitely he will get maximum punishment.

Here some may have the opinion that in a democratic country it is impossible. But in a democratic country the citizen has to behave to his fellow citizens in good manner.Almost all ponographic sites are full of scenes from bedroom , bathroom etc which are taken secretly.Using this blackmailing also going on.The high payment that these sites offers to the picture/movie suppliers really attract many to indulge in such wicked practices. So to make our society a cultured one these sites are to be banned.

I agree with both Jayen and Abid.
If we need to ban pornography then we should also demolish temples that have naked statues and books like Kamasutra should be banned also. Also even though Dubai has banned porn you should know that the most number of child harassment and child abuse takes place in Dubai and surrounding places.

India from earlier has porn everywhere, in it's art, in it's temples, in it's culture then can we ban our whole culture...

I am NOT telling that porn is SACRED. But there is a limitation to everything. You cannot the ban the thoughts of human mind which is far more faster than a Google search.

I think it was due to that times traditions and customs.Man had developed and more cultured now.So becoming an animal at present situation is not good.

Also we cannot blame temple arts as porn.Once upon a time the temples were open to cream layer of society only. And most of the kings of that time were having number of ladies in their palace. So according to their culture they made it open to people also through arts. But today it is not the situation.
Also that pics will not arouse the sexual instincts and feelings of man or woman as the porn sites do.So to keep our society in right path porn sites should be banned. It is not equal to banning our culture, but preserving our culture.

I accept however India is bigger than Saudi-Arabia and the population of saudi-arabia is much lesser than India and it is easy to implement a ban in smaller country rather than in bigger country

The thing what i cannot understand is why are the people forcing certain things to be done?

Okay let us take like this if pornography is being banned by the government completely you mean to tell that you can eradicate it no but you are laying a new path to experiment them in live i mean they tend to go to prostitutes and so on.... whether it is correct?

Yes Deivigan,
We have to try a new path to improve the morality of the whole Indian Society and to become a model to the world. All of us are witnessing the demerits of uncontrolled sex and ponographic sites will add more to that side.Government had sensored some films as Adults only, but theatres will issue ticket to all hands in their counter without looking the age.So the best method to prevent its spread is banning the site.

This is my 1400th post in forum.

Your talking only about the ban and not worried about the side effects that we will face after that so that only the government are still at stake don't know what to do??????????????

But it is really difficult to ban and try to keep an eye on everyone's network and keep on checking whether they are watching any pornographic sites or not

A question has been raised regarding father's reaction on his son smoking. This is family matter. The parents, couple or children can regulate their affairs. But here we are not discussing family matter. The question is about public policy on banning pornography. Even if government does not ban pornography, parents may regulate. I wish to highlight the importance of sex and erotic in arts, literature and other fine arts. Erotica (Shringar Ras in Hindi literature) is very important in literature. Any literature, sculpture, painting cannot be conceived without erotica. There is very thin dividing line between erotica and pornography. We cannot leave this issue to be decided by government. If we are to restrict pornography, this should be left to a committee of experts in literature, films, paintings etc. We cannot expect the Government to ban Ajanta, Elora and Konark paintings and works. There is no reason why we should entrust government with such task for contemporary artistic work.

Gulshan,
As you told Ajantha and Ellora are artistic works. We can say that is the right of an artist.Agreed.But opening a ponographic site for public view is not an artistic work.It is not a creative work also.It is absolutely a destructive work, openly releasing an evil to the society. All the evils in the society is to be controlled and as a first step to control this largest evil the sites are to be banned first.
