You are right in criticising Sachin but did you do same when Rajasthan CM lobbied for Lalit Modi and matter rocked the Lok Sabha

Sorry, but we also failed when Priyanka did the same in Himachal or Vadra did the same in Haryana but when shall we come out of party lines and talk as responsible citizens? How long shall we take for reaching to a point where we talk sense instead of targeting each other? The same is happening in parliament and same is the story here.

@ vijay , The Lalit Modi- Raje issue was discussed here if I remember by some other member , anyway she was given a clean chit.. But why did you not bring out the issue of Priyanka Vadra getting land to build a luxury house  in Himachal Pradesh if you are that fair?

Who gave her the clean chit. Her own party that counts for nothing. Yes Priyanka should also be tried for getting any undue favors.I do not believe on blindly supporting any part of person.

Merely for this nobody can be faulted.  One can be faulted only if he tries to bribe.  The authorities cannot be faulted for listening to somebody even if the request is illegal or irregular. When the minister or some officer actually indulges in something unlawful, he is to blame. Here the minister has not obliged. There appears nothing wrong either on part of Tendulkar or the minister. 

I agree with your submission. It is for authorities to stand firm.

I agree. Press overacted in this case. One News paper used the word Lobbying. Another said, ' Tendulkar requested the Defense Minister. Another paper  says Tendulkar  said, there are no business interests behind meeting Manohar Parrekar.. As you said, ultimately nothing happened.

 The truth is the Defense minister politely said, the area in question was located in a sensitive are which  Trains  army personnel. So Tendulkar's request was politely declined.

You seem to have got things mixed up here or overlooked facts as they stand -  No one is even pointing fingers at authorities or at Manohar Parrick because they have done no wrong at all.

But I don't see how a person who lobbies for unauthorised public land that was granted only for sports purpose and later was being used to put up a building,  can be right since that's exactly what Sachin was doing on behalf of his friend - lobbying and asking for favors and underhand deals using his position as an MP !

Any one who has approach can contact. Many not having contact direct also look for some way.  Nobody can be faulted for such contact- whether this is lobbying or not. Only if some illegal offer is made for favor, he can be faulted. Most people resort to some sort of personal approach for some work. If somebody relies only on formal and written channels, he will be a loser.  So the pragmatic approach is to make contacts.
