No way India can displace Pakistan as favoured nation. Modi can keep trying.Modi foreign policy is in shambles as Burma,  Sri Lanka and Pakistan have given naval bases to China and Bangladesh facilities at Chittagong.  India is surrounded by China. Not his fault really as India does not have technical know-how to share and no deep pockets to match China.  all this can be traced to Pandit Nehru.

That is understandable because they share a common culture and religious beliefs..China is a larger power and unfortunately  we share nearly 3000 kms of common border with it. China has always been aggressive and it is only in the last two decades that the Indo - China relationships have somewhat improved .

It is not improvement of relation with china. It is selfishness of China. Indian is big market and China need it sell their products.

India is not compelled to accept tjwie products, however, it is mutual import export policy with India exporting a lot of copper and copper alloys and other related products  ,cotton and garments to China. But statistics wise we import more from China.

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Why is Pakistan favoured over a Country like India? It is understandable if Gulf Countries support Pakistan due to their muslim community but how is it that China and other nations support it. Like, if I think fundamentally I really do not understand why there is such an enemity with India from China, is it just due to power and politics or is there any other reason by which enemity developed between these 2 Countries?

Very simple China is claiming that Arunachal Pardesh is their area. It is the only reason for enemity of China with India.

India has long been very friendly and hence every other Country tries to take advantage of this perceived weakness. Pakistan claims one part of India, China claims another, Bangladesh, Bhutan & Nepal seem to be peaceful countries and hence hasn't claimed any. Where there is power and politics, there is greed to acquire more and more.

There is power and politics in India as well, but it does not seek anything extra than what it owns.

However there seems to be a weak line of understanding by our Indian legal system about which land belongs to us and also it is unable to make other Countries understand which part of land belongs to India, which is being taken advantage of.

I think China should also be claiming the land of Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, and Hanoi as they also touch the border of China

For the matter of thought, nothing belongs to us and we belong to the land.

The crux of a nation's international standing is military power coupled with a sound economy making everything you need. This has not happened in India and we are still going around buying some 36 rafale planes ( One squadron) which is meaningless. Hindus were a defeated race for 9 centuries , paid Jizzia, married their daughters to Muslims and played second fiddle. Just for the record TIppu and Nizam had 90% senior officials who were Muslim while the population was 90% Hindus. This is itself a commentary of the past of India. It was only the British who rescued the Hindus otherwise we would have been slaves to Muslim rule even now. Secondly look at China it has cracked down on Islam( banned Ramadan, Azan, multiple marriaages, even growing of beards)  and the Muslim world is silent but they bark against India. This is a lesson that Modi better realize.

Eye-opening statistics are that out of total trade of 84 billion dollars China exports to India worth 68 billion dollars while exports from India to China is  only 16 billion dollars. We have a trade deficit of 52 billion dollars, nothing to be proud of.

Yes Export of India to China is much less than what India is Importing. China products are cheaper so we Indian like these although their quality is not so good.

It is almost impossible for India to cover this gap. China is smart business person than India. Thanks for sharing this static.

The topic is simple but solution is made complex. Nehru did blunders but why in 10 years of BjP rule his policies were not changed?  Modi is continuing the same as Nehru. Lowest military budget as part of GDP after 1947. How many know that due to financial crunch enforced by Modi the army is reducing it's strength by 100.000 soldiers. Modi cuts air force demand of 126 to 36 raffle. Man this chap is mad. He is worse than Nehru but sadly some on this site keep justifying Midi.
