I am quoting a news report

"The Delhi based centre for Science and Environment found high levels of phthalates in 24 samples of Indian, Chinese, Taiwanese, and Thai Toys it tested.Phthalates are toxic and migrate from plastic to air, food, people and even unborn babies.
Banned by European Union in 1999, Phthalates can damage male reproductive system, impair Lungs, trigger asthma and allergies, genital defects and other serious heath problems.
Children under 3 years are more likely to be exposed to phthalates because they tend to chew and suck on plastic toys.Since thier metabolic, endocrine, and reproductive system are immature, they are more vulnerable as well."

So next time you buy a toy for your child, please be cautious about this fact. The best thing to do is buy toys made of natural materials like wood with a non-toxic finish or made of organic cotton, hemp or wool.

It is very good suggestion. I feel that many will not be so careful. It will be advisable that the toys be also quality checked and ISI marked. Then it will be safe to buy ISI mark toys.

Yes i have about this information in news channel. This time mostly china & Japan are the only countries which are maximum products in this toys markets. And the material used for making these toys used in china and Japan is a plastic and other polymer type material which is very dangerous and bad effective on skin of small children. Many times we see small children comes in contact with toys through their mouth and toung. so this effects very badly. People should avoid it and use to buy toys which are not made of these kind of materials.
There are lots of shocking news about such toys and also about CHINA makes.

I've heard, that a ship full of "Johnson and Johnson" baby products where shipped from delhi to chennai, when the customs officers were checking the ship, they had a little doubt: "why does these products have to be shipped from delhi to chennai when it is easy and faster to transport them through roadways?"
and so they checked the "Johnson & johnson" products and they were shocked to find out that all these products were duplicate and CHINA makes and they look exactly like the original :johnson & johnson". They took a severe action!!!
Today I also saw the news in our local news paper.Earlier it was heard about Chinese toys. Now Indian toys also.
