    In western countries, it is legal. Many such women has protested to make it legal profession. However, in India mass agitation would take place, if it becomes a legal profession.

    Thank you for the link. I am amused when I find that people praise the past for what they like and blame the west for what they consider evil. so west is blamed for everything including nudity, porn, flesh trade, gambling etc.

    The link well tells how prostitution was well regulated in ancient India. In fact, Amra Pali, who was Nagar Vadhu of Vaishali, was a ganika (sex worker). There is also well known system of Tawaifs in Lucknow and around.

    That's indeed is a bold confession its not that easy for girl to accept it in India unlike western country where this may not be seen as a surprise.May be she needed money for herself but that's not a good way to earn money.She must have at least think about her parents before confessing such a big thing. :blink:

    I don't think it's fair to legalize sex work. If a person get sex outside his home legally, it can affect the relationship of husband and wife. After all, marriage is a promise of keeping belief in the other person and living together sharing common thoughts and feelings.

    I don't think it's fair to legalize sex work. If a person get sex outside his home legally, it can affect the relationship of husband and wife. After all, marriage is a promise of keeping belief in the other person and living together sharing common thoughts and feelings.

    This is of course, legal, though considered immoral and socially undesirable. It is unlawful to advertise/ solicit such job but there is nothing unlawful for a particular woman to engage in such job without soliciting and advertising.

    Even Sunny Leone confessed about her career on the National television. It is legalized in many countries but not in India and I don't think it should be legalized either.
