When a uniform is prescribed, there is no way except to go by the dress code. Otherwise also, dress should not be such as to attract people more to your body than work. Some body parts need not be exposed too much. Here is link:

The foremost purpose of a work dress is , it creates a feeling of uniformity among all, be it a high ranking officer or a low placed Khalasi. The other equally important advantage is that they are devised and designed keeping in view , the 'safety' aspect, which is very much required.

I feel that one should dress according the situation otherwise you stick out like a sore thumb ! Uniformity is very essential in work places so a certain amount of dress code should be insisted upon so that people do not get distracted and can concentrate on their jobs at hand !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Our generation is so pressed to impress that we forget modesty all together. I agree, the whole point of formal dressing at work places is to bring uniformity and if I may add, is to inculcate an atmosphere of disciplined professionalism. Unfortunately, many believe rules are meant to be broken!

I work in a most hazardous place . The nature of work demands wearing of safety devices like goggles, and Helmet all along the working hours. If the employee fails to adhere to the rules, he will not be eligible for any accident benefits. It all depends on how strict is the enforcement procedure.
That's absolutely true sir because I have also worked in construction field as safety officer. In hazardous conditions like this you have to stick to your dress code.

Dress code is necessary, some where for safety and some where for attraction. In industry it is used for safety.

We wear dress to cover our body and not to attract any one. Dress must be simple and clean. Uniform dress system in good one but some time employer insist to wear skirts.
We always need of dress code every where in working place. This will keep good understanding between the workers.
