There are many street doctors who set the bones by massaging and clean your ears. My maternal uncle (mom's sister's husband) was a fruit merchant but would treat patients of bone problems free of charge. Such skill is hereditary in many cases. Before his death, he wanted to impart his skill to my brother, a qualified orthopedics doctor. But he died with his skill.

Many of such street doctors are considered fake and unauthorized. Yet they have flourishing business partly because there is not sufficient medical facility available and partly because some of these really render good service.

Even in our locality, there is a lady who is a bone setter. She does a good job of it and many people visits her. She gives her service free of cost. But I am really surprise reading about the ear cleaners. I didn't know that there were people providing such service
Are they certified and if don't aren't they dangerous? There are many i have seen but never trust them!

There are some specialists who are 'blessed' to treat people. I myself have been treated 2-3 times in my childhood. My lock of my bones in the wrist had got dislocated. It was an elderly man in our neighborhood who treated me in no time. And that is not the only occaion. This man too treats all his patients free of charge and he can 'see' the cnditions of the bones. It cannot be said that they aren't certified so it will be wrong to trust them. And by the way, what are certified doctors doing these days

Gulshan ji please don't use street word for these doctors. They gain this skill with experience. My mother also have this skill and she also treat with out any charge.

What is guarantee that certified doctors are not dangerous. Experience is important thing.

As far as I know they are not certified but they learn the skill from someone else. Of course you might also come across fake cases particularly if they move around offering their services.

We have such doctors in every city in north India, although I am not aware in other parts of our country. Most of these are from Muslim community and do it without charging any fees for it but if someone wants to pay they do not deny. even the oil etc used in setting the bones right is prepared by themselves and they do it with perfect expertise.
Likewise we have another kind of such doctors known as 'Jarrah' who are expert in surgery without ever going to school. They learn it from their elders.

'Street doctor' is not my word. This is the title in the article given in link. I know about their skill. I even mentioned the skill of my uncle (mausa) who was a fruit merchant but also treated patients of bone disorder free of charge.

A place near Chittor, called Puttor in the state of AP, is fully filled with the 'Bone Setters'. The entire village is in the profession of 'Bone setting'. The whole year will be filled with visitors from other places in the country to set their broken bones in order by these traditional Bone setters.

Here in my city also we have number of them where people come to have their bones set. These all are experienced people with proven records. Most of them do not charge unless someone wants to pay willingly.
