I think we should look at people's reaction more on such matters as they are the deciding factor in the end. Members of different parties would sing their own song and carry their party tines which would show in form of election results in the end. Tomorrow they may start a campaign in favor of Nitish Kumar who is as good an able administrator but we need enough votes to reach to PM's post for any party or alliance. Unfortunately there is no party or alliance in sight right now.

BJP is the principal opposition party.. so discontent against present ruling party will benefit BJP most. It is true that people are ultimate deciding factor. But organization also matters. BJP has no organization in many states and so even if this party does its best, this will be only in states where they have organizational support. .In most of South Indian states, North East, West Bengal- BJP is not likely to get many seats in view of no or less organization. Hence they will need support of other parties. Prime minister will of course be of BJP if alternative government is formed. But allies will also have a voice in selection of P.M. Modi is not favorite in Non BJP potential allies.

Not necessarily, the way leaders of opposition parties are working and diverting every single issue giving it a communal look, the chances are regional parties will get a major share of popular vote to leave big parties high and dry. Here lies a catch for real secular leaders like Lalus, Mulayams, mayas and Sharads and likes. There are many more, the picture will be clear later, the trailer is on.

That the regional parties will go all out for the kill is true. Especially in south, where the presence of big guys is all most nill.
