That is right there is a reason for everyone to waste time at work place. The time span could differ according to work load or organization but internet has added opportunities.

I have seen some people engage in talking while working and some other without any delay continue their work, and in my case, I use smart phone for some updates in social networks as well as reading and replying boddunan forums and some times in the evening when I get bored I used to eat and listen music in slow sounds.

Its true that internet is the greatest productivity drain. The computers and internet meant for office use is abused by the employees causing a big blow to the productivity. The other reasons are most of the PSUs are over staffed. Where a job can be done by a single man, there you will see 6 persons. In addition to this, in India wages are not linked with employee's performance. These factors make the people in the offices to while away their time on unproductive activities.

Well there is a difference between rejuvenation and time wasting.. People forget that sometimes and the atmosphere is completely changed..

In private sector it is very hard to waste time. But in government sector most of employee waste their time in drinking tea, smoking and talking.

That's so true. And if the only work time is taken into account, people are getting quite hefty salaries. And still they are crying all the time. There is too big a disparity in this sense.

Its not fair to throw the blame entirely on the people who waste the time during working hours.It's the inefficiency of the Management that cannot utilize the man power in a productive way.
