    Beautiful voice, started his career in 1944, his song "Zindagi kaisi hai paheli" gives the depth of sadness mixed with joyous melody. He lives with his voice.

    Manna dey has always been my favorite singer and I have had the opportunity of visiting him several times and chatting with him since he lived very close to my sister's house in Bangalore.The last time I met him was in June this year and he gave me a CD with his songs signed by him, a great treasure for me ! I know he was old and suffering a lot especially after he lost his wife ! I am in a way glad hat he is at last together with her ! His memories and songs are there for us to cherish ,,,,,May his soul rest in peace !

    Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

    You are lucky to have talked with Manna many times. Anyhow, he lived a full life. His versatility in rendering songs ranging from Mehmood to Raj kapoor is unique.

    So lucky of you, Yes you mentioned it once before in another topic. I really feel that Indian music has lost one of its most talented of contributors. I pray for his soul to rest in peace.

    He is a good singer especially classical one, and he has sang Madhushala which is brilliant, but from classic songs I do prefer, Rafi and Hemant Kumar.

    It is end of an era. Most of female singer of golden period of film music are not with us. Pucho Na Kaise Maine Rain Bitai one of the best one song of Manna dey.

    Of the olden days singers it Manna Dey whose songs I love the most. It is not because that I want to speak about him so I am saying this. His songs are indeed very pleasing. I love to hear his songs before going to bed.
