It is revealed that poll officials were required to walk to their designated polling station in the Naxalite controlled region. Walking was an advice to avaod naxalite attack. But the poll oficials were too tired to walk. Hence they used transport which Naxalites attacked.

Its true that Naxalites suspect those who move by vehicles. This instruction was issued even before the elections. But election officials with their equipment walking long distances some times covering rivers in the Naxal prone area is a difficult task. Many refused to act as Polling staff in Chattisgarh.
