Union health minister has talked of protcting gay rights. This will certainly encourage gay and lsbians. I don't really understand what gay rights are. I agree that every one's human rights be protcted- straight, gay or lesbian. But human rights and gay rights differ.

The gays are not treated properly and are not recruited into many services if it is known that they are gay. This is discrimination because of their sexual orientation. Therefore even if there is no visible difference in rights there is discrimination which is equal to denial of rights. Therefore the need to protect the rights of gays and lesbians. Science has shown that gays and lesbians are not so because of choice but because of certain genetic differences. It is to be welcomed if such statement has been made by the Minister.
Everything depends upon social acceptances, even honorable Supreme Court perhaps restored their rights and talk from union minister also indicating this but what troubles is working inside organisation can both institutions change all these, am not sure of it.

Very true...gays are an integral part of our society and they contribute as much as the other person given the fact that they have to put up with numerous discriminations and hardships. So it is indeed a welcome move !

Gays are given their due. By this move Union Health minister showed how there can be a human face in any law. It also proved that Laws are meant for making the lives of those for whom they are aimed at.easy. Not to harass.

I too think it is a good and sensible move and nothing to be critical about ...Human life is far more precious and need to be given due respect regardless of ones personal sexuaal preferences since it does not hamper anyone else nor is it a criminal act !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!
